Duchene, Landy, MacK are the future, ROR is the only question mark based on his contract situation. If it wasn't a mess right now with a looming extension or trade scenario he would be in that core too

i totally agree. However, eventually they will need to shore up the wing or defense. i think ROR is a better fit at centre with Mack than Mack / Duchene who are both strictly offensive.

Mack is a pure stud; i don't care what he is doing this year and i wouldn't dream anyone is prying him away. I do think Duchene could be moved for the right price. He has all the potential in the world but never seems to put it together.

That's just me and i've seen about 7 avs games this year. You've seen many more so you would be a better judge. I just based it on team needs on paper.

again 12m going one way 950k going the other. Avs get the heavy contracts and have no cap room. So they would have to sacrifice bigger contracts like Iggy, Landy, ROR, Duchene,

Its just a bad idea bc it wont work and then strips the Avs of any youth and depth and still have no chance to upgrade their D. So for the sake of the team getting better its a terrible terrible trade

Kessel is 25 Bozak is 27 not sure wher the youth is lost..my point is Colorado is going for a cup run under Roy..if you can get a Kessel Bozak for egs McKinnon Colorado is closer to a cup then with McKinnon now..they will get 55-60 goals and about 80-90points with the pair

Thats why I think they try and keep them all with moving back to the Wing to set up combos of, they can start to fill in the blanks with Wingers they have now in Tangs, Iggy, McGinn or look at the UFA market for a guy like Frolik (who would be a huge add)

Eventually i see mack definately taking the 1st line duties from Duch. What do you see? I think mack is going to be a top 10 forward in the league no problem.

Youre missing the point. To add those guys in Bozak and Kessel, they are moving way more than just MacK out.

12m for Bozak, Kessel = 12m for MacK then 2 of Duchene, Landy, ROR, Iggy just to make the cap work

So they move 3 Top 6 guys out to add 2 Top 6 guys. Thats losing depth, and youth while not having any room to add for D...its not that hard to figure out

McKinnon is a major stud..he will be a stamps type elite player in the next two yrs..Hall is a great winger and nurse is a pretty good D prospect..i would trade Hall and nurse for McKinnon any day of the week if I were Edmonton ..maybe then they would have a first round pick that's actually Great (besides Hall he's pretty good but not great)

He has all the offensive skill to do so, but he really needs to work on his draws and his zone coverages in the defensive zone. The kid just wants to skate 100mph all the time.

Thats why he was so electric playing with Stastny, he was able to dish the puck to MacK when he is in mid stride and once that happened, no one could touch him.

Right now he is entering the offensive zone so quickly and slamming on the brakes lookign for someone instead of taking it to the net and shooting. Kids a sniper not a puck distributing Center (which he is trying to do and replace Staz in my eyes)

I agree about the cap..trade RoR there goes 5 mil there and a good GM can tinker and trade and make things work..they will get something good for ROR Iggy is temp

Kessel is 27 and Bozak is 28. Still youngish though.
His cap issue is valid. They aren't going to make a trade with Toronto work by trading ROR....

I can agree that Kessel is an elite level scorer....saying he has no value is an exaggeration, but right now most cup contending teams won't pay the ransom you fans think he's worth because his attitude and work ethic (and being "difficult" to coach) definitely reduce his desirability. Some of it may be the medias fault but that stigma is there nonetheless
