Just heard interview with Peter DeBoer on Toronto radio station. Sounds like a first class guy with good head on his shoulders. I didn't realize he went through 3 different owners and GM's during his tenure in Florida. Said he learned a lot from Lou in NJ and he would like to jump back into coaching.
I would take him in a heart beat. I have a feeling he may end up in TO if they choke again this year.

He sounds very smart and does have a really good track record of taking teams that look mediocre on paper and getting the most out of them.

That said, despite his juniors experience, he gets a lot of justifiable criticism for his handling of young players and goalies. Certainly not against him being the coach moving forward, but not a guy I'd be jumping through hoops for .

The Devils fans I work with (and there are only a handful) kind of thought Deboer wasn't utilizing his roster correctly. Only so much you can do with a team that has 10 forwards on the wrong side of 30. I think the valid criticism of Deboer is he hasn't handled Larsson well at all.

it's the size of the grand canyon. Morin is in the infancy of his development, so I wanted to leave plenty of room.

I do think there is a small faction of Flyers fans who believe Morin is going to be another Pronger based on his size, and the fact he looks a little like Pronger. Those folks are going to be pretty disappointed.

Yep. Exactly my feelings.

He did say he has " learned from his mistakes"...whatever they may be. He really didn't have much to work with in NJ, especially this year with all their injuries. When a 43 year is your best player you know the cards dealt to you are not going to work out.
He seems very intelligent... Can we say that about Chief..hmmmm

Well, I don't know how well Chief scored on any IQ test, but if you're going to let DeBoer off the hook for having a bad roster, doesn't it stand to reason that you extend the same benefit of the doubt to Craig Berube?

That said, I think I would rather have Morrissey and Duclair instead of Morin and Z2.

It's just like suggesting the Flyers should listen to all offers for defensemen gets turned into "The Flyers should have a firesale and trade everyone ASAP".

That was an awesome game!

EDIT: Also, we should definitely draft Godla

Maybe in the 6th or 7th. He's short for a modern goalie.

Very impressed by him. Only saw 3 or 4 of the Team Canada games. That stretch pass last night was a thing of beauty. Also, had no idea Morrissey was that physical. Looks like the total package.
