Wont lie, this win helps this bumhole season by the Flyers, and stupidity from management that lead to it.

Just going to comment about that...Hagg wasn't bad, but Lindblom was a beast. No Nylander, either.

Hextall for kicks should sign this Slovakian goalie, can't hurt our lack of depth at the position.

Draft eligible in 2015.

Can't blame Hextall for much of hit, many of those moves he had no control over because he wasn't here or just didn't have a say.

I found it out today, because I said to somebody that Hextall should show up at the end of today's game with a contract in hand

Here's an interesting question I saw on Twitter:

How many Flyers players would you say are performing well below your expectations?

I came up with two. Read and Coburn. There's a handful of others that are below expectations, but not playing so badly that I could say, "Wow, I'm stunned at how awful he looks"

I think they are the two biggest culprits and two of the biggest reasons why the team is struggling. Overall, I think every player on the team has had periods of inconsistency. Biggest issue with the team. The Flyers are an average team that is having a bad year and is underachieving as a whole.

I find it a bit worrisome that management is saying that the players are underperforming, and that's why the team is where it is.

Maybe management overrated the talent.

There's something to that, in that they have trouble with passing tape-to-tape and other fundamentals, but it's hardly the whole story.

It's true, so not sure why it would be a bit worrisome. I seriously doubt that Hextall placed the bar higher then the Flyers simply being a team capable of making the playoffs this season. I don't see that as an unreasonable expectation for this team and this roster. If you read his comments, he has a vision and an approach to molding the team, and he's not going to change that. I like the fact that he hasn't overreacted and is not in any rush to make moves.

I just hope that Hextall's comments were notebook filler. Because I disagree that this is just an underperforming team.

I think it's a bad team.

Wouldn't shock me if they felt some players are but their lack of drafting & developing has hurt & forced a few on this roster to try & do more than they are capable of for an extended period of time.

An under performing, average team makes for a bad team. There is no question in my mind that this team could be, and should be a lot better then it is right now.

I'm sure that's part of it, but if they expected this to be a playoff team...that doesn't really excite me.

It's got good parts and cornerstones, but it's missing talent in key areas and the mix is bad.

I prefer to be an optimist but from July 1 until the end of camp there was just no good reason to do anything but stare losing in the face.
