Yak no like defense.

Yak has played well on defense this year. His offence has taken a hit because of it. I still have very high hopes for him

They need to draft better, like maybe puck moving wingers, we're loaded with centers and D-men!

They're in trouble because they never focused on scoring, when every top team has!

As far as CJ goes, time has come to morph proper positional play with jumping on loose pucks instead of dropping back to the blue line!

Slick stick handling........sweet pass to Smith........wide open net..........Smith misses.
Not his fault on that one. 15 points in 20 games.

Game before he assisted the Marchand goal after Lucic got dropped to the Begy line.

How many posts did Lucic and Iggy hit with his set ups in the playoffs this year.......?

Lucic, Smith, Kelly, are WAY UNDERPERFORMING.
Then the inconsistent play of Solderberg, Marchand and Ericksson.

I don't get the Krejic hate especially since the Yeti got exposed playing top 2 center for a chunk this year........experiment failed.

- JIwasinskiJr

half hearted effort on too many nights. Cracked 70 points once in his career. Hit as many posts as anyone on the team last playoffs. Does that sound like a 7 mil dollar player? I don't hate him I just dont think he's as good as some people do. I don't think he's as good as Savard was. And I think we're already getting more from Smith than we've expected, but yeah, that miss was pathetic, shades of Glen Wesley.
Is Kelly underperforming or just overpaid? He'll probably still get his 10 goals a year when its all said and done. But who on this team is performing to salary or expectations? Bergyy? nope. Soderberg (no L) is one of our top players right now, consistent? no, but who on the team is...

Well Chiarelli and co. obviously aren't scared. Seems like a big hand job up there on floor 9. Going to suck when JJ doesn't get playoff gates. Ask O'Connell how that worked out.
- glove_was_stuck

Chia doesn't deserve to be in the same sentence as O'Connell, has he had a job since being fired in Boston? Sinden pooped him out onto second base and he thought he hit a double.

Well I drastically disagree with you on Krejic......he isn't Savard by any means but he is also a MUCH better two way player than Savard.

And if your going to female dog about him not being a player like Seguin........that ship has sailed.......we kept the better two way player over the high skilled player.

Solderberg looked AWFUL playing top two center minutes........not sure what your watching.

Bergy underperforming.......sure.....although not one player isn't.

FYI...Bergy leads the team in points even over your boy Solderberg.

And look at the advanced stats......I know your going to discredit them but.......he leads ALL NHL FORWARDS in Corsi.........on a crappy team.

My biggest complaint is why has Pete not done anything? Good lord Seth Griffith as the answer with Looch and Krejci. That is embarrassing!

I'm not buying into Fire Claude, Fire Pete, Trade Chara, Trade Lucic, Trade Rask....

At the end of the day Chia is going to overpay for a Chris Stewart with prospects and draft picks..........which hurts us next year and the year after.

Wouldn't be surprised if we trade a second and our first for Jagr either.

Question..........

Should Chia scramble for a few rental role players so we scratch into the playoffs.......hurting our future?

Or should we ACCEPT the present team and build for next year and beyond.......?

I'm scared we make a couple stupid trade because Chia Pet is so scared not to make the playoffs that it screws us next year and the year after........

When did I mention Seguin? Cripes. And all I was saying w Soderberg is he's a top scorer on the team, to be specific, 2nd on the team,.. not bad for a guy making 5.5 mil less than Bery and 5 less Looch.
I don't go into advances stats more than the +/-, ( which is my fav :love Carl looks good there too.

Interesting points. I think Jagr helps us for sure, but he is too slow to ultimately be effective in the playoffs. Not worth the investment unless its a 3rd rounder.
I would love to see this team with a capable 1st line RW. It balances the depth. Bruins would have (3) effective scoring lines and already win a handful more games and be in a playoff spot.

Surely someone must be out there that doesn't cost a lot that is an improvement on Seth Griffith.

I agree.....but with our top six forwards I think even if we picked up another 20 goal scorer......(Chris Stewart and T.J. Oshie are BARELY 20 goals scorers)....

We still need more pop........

That's why I think this year is a lost cause........

We need a legit top line RW.......a PROVEN 20 plus scorer

AND

Another upgrade on out top SIX wingers.........Marchand is our most consistent and that's not saying much.

They can't make any moves unless they make BIG moves........

So it's what we have right now....which is not good.

OR

Chia Pet try's to package some vets together to another team so they wave there NMC....MAYBE.

That's my hope.

But even right now the guys that had the most value 20 games in are almost worthless now.

Again......you don't like Krejic because he doesn't score.

Seguin was a skill/scoring player.......

You would argue he wasn't a fit here and that he needed to go......

And then I ask........

For the love of God who would you want to be our top line center.....?

Not a skill guy like a Seguin or a Two way player like Krejic.......?

Solderberg is NOT EVEN CLOSE to a top line center on a Cup run team......PERIOD.

In fact he isn't a very good two way player......Ericksson carries the possession on that line and Kelly is second in that regard.

Well its a fine line for sure. It may not take much to get them going again. Last year Bos was 3rd in the league in Goals For. Only teams ahead of them were ANA and CHI. Iginla did have 30 which is an incredible hole right now. Pete thought Louie would replace those goals and he's not.

I'm not sure who has No Move Clauses so it's tough to shed salary. Personally I think Seidenberg and Kelly make too much and those are guys that could go.

please stop putting words in my mouth.

I loved adam oates and he didn't score, But was a 100pt player. Different era, I know.
Krej in general gives a half assed effort during the season. Thats my problem with him. Seguin, you brought him up, not me. 2 of the reasons he's not here, he was signed to a contract the team couldn't afford, and he's a natural center and we already had Bergy and Krej already, who at the time were more effective players than him. All the other stuff about banging players wives, staying out late, going to strip clubs, didn't get along with Thorton, all could be true, but I don't know. Soderberg is in his second season in the NHL, .. He;s fine for what he is. I'm not asking him to be a first line center, but he is 2nd on the team in points. I don't know why you have a problem with that.

That's what is crazy about the team right now.......they HAVE BEEN a top five scoring team in the NHL for years.

This year..........garbage.

I'm just wondering if a lot is due to they system just sucking and creativity out of the team.......

It works if EVERY PLAYER on the team is playing to PEAK PERFORMANCE.......but if you lose one and then have some players digress.......whammy!

I don't......I like Solderberg.

But as a third liner he is ideal.

What I'm getting at is if we didn't sign Krejic or traded him.............where would we be now?

Our strength is at Center right now and especially with Bergy-Krejic-Solderberg........

If I could go back in time I would have traded Krejic instead of Seguin.........and the return would have been even better than what we got.

Point is I like our top Three Centers..........especially with questions as to what Spoons and Koko are.

he had an NMC then too, couldn't have traded him instead of Seguin, but yeah, I get it.
