You have to remember, Detroit is in the same division now. So if a trade is going to go down between them, it's going to be pretty significant. I think that alone makes Detroit a poor trading partner though.
- HonkFortheGoose

I agree with this, to a point.

The Sabres can't be viewed as a threat to anyone any time soon.

Detroit might be better off going for Yandle, though.

I'm not doing the deal for him either
- SABRES 89

Is there anyone in the league you'd be willing to trade for? I'm just curious because it seems like no matter who anyone brings up, you're general response is "insert player here stinks."

Right, but Murray doesn't want to make it harder for his team to beat one in his division either. Especially when you look a year or two down the road. So it's not necessarily that Detroit doesn't want to make the trade, it's that Murray doesn't.

Trading Myers is dumb. Have said it for 3 years here and still stand by it.

I don't want Tomas Tatar or Dylan Larkin because he had a great 5 games against 19 year olds.

Keep the 24 year old good defensemen and move on

I was more or less hiding because it's an overpayment for Myers which I think is going to have to happen for him to be moved. I just don't want to get into one of those debates
- Stripes77

I don't think it's an overpayment, imo. We're really only taking one roster player. They have so many good young forwards, it's almost crazy, and if they want a guy like Myers, they'll have to pay what, imo, he's worth.

I know what they are looking for when it comes to Myers and it's a Hall, Eberle type player. Tatar, will he be as good with this Sabres team? we don't know but unless Larkin or Mantha is in the talk I don't see it. Dial Tones are very popular.

Michael Pachla: Sabres having a rough go of it without Tyler Myers
Rumors come and go and the debate rages on, but the Sabres are clearly a better team with Myers anchoring the blueline

- Michael Pachla

garth pasted part of your blog

"Since Nolan took over as head coach on November 13, 2013 the Buffalo Sabres are 27-39-8 (36.4% win percentage) with Myers in the lineup, 4-20-4 (14.3% win percentage) without him. "

I wasn't even referring to trading Myers. I just meant in general.

I've noticed a trend over the last few weeks with you and it's not even exclusive to hockey. Someone on here mentions a player, or coach for that matter (hockey or football), and the first thing you always seem to respond with is that said person stinks. Once in a while you change it up and say they're horrible. But usually it's that they stink.

I get that point. It's a very valid one. You always have great points.

Imo, though, it could be viewed as a win/win for both teams. We need O, they need D. It helps both teams.

But let me clarify something. Myers, to me, is turning into a nice shutdown D man. I don't even need the guy to score 40 points anymore. Just be a smothering force in your own end, and I think it's not nuts to think he will be. Perhaps a little overpaid, at this point, but I don't move him for anything less than a significant return.

Even if he is as good as he is with Det, you need a lot more for Myers.

if a team wants to overpay, let them

if the return is a second line winger only, I'd pass

He also mentioned trading Myers for Tatar after you posted it on this thread. I found that funny. He is reading this and getting his ideas from here.

And..so...... why would anyone want scrub players or coaches? we have been down that road before. We now have the assets to get players in here that have some meaning why settle for less.

Why do we want a washed up Mike Shannahan that told us to basically "stick it" before? he did nothing with Redskins besides screw that team up.

Why do we want a washed up Mike Holmgren? 1 super bowl and another that was a loss. How would the Bills better themselves with those 2 huge ego trips, no thanks.

Why would the Sabres move Myers for Tatar? because he plays on the Red Wings where almost everyone is a very good player. We can do better if they move Myers.

No more settling with both of these teams enough is enough with that and we wonder why players or coaches won't come here.

It's interesting to me to watch how people around here react to the possibility of Myers being traded.

There's about 1/3 of the posters that feel this should have been done 2 years ago and would be happy with a bag of pucks in return.

There's 1/3 of the posters that feel that he shouldn't be traded no matter what.

The last 1/3 of the posters here feel that if they can upgrade the team by moving him it's a good idea, but that there's no immediate need to make a move that involves him. They would be content either way. (this happens to be the group I fall in)

My point is that it doesn't matter what player is mentioned, you always say they stink. It could very well be that you just don't like anyone....

Anyway, I just found it amusing that I noticed this trend you have going on. That's all.

he really has turned his game around so I am of the opinion if the return is right move him but don't move him for the sake of a trade
