Strachan was brought in to compete for the 7th D. There isn't any way they thought he would be playing and you don't want your kid sitting in the press box. To be fair, he actually looked ok up until recently. Also, there is nothing wrong with having the kids spend most of the year in Rochester as it lets them grown and keeps them away from this mess.

With Mezaros they were trying to accomplish two goals: get to the cap floor and rehabilitate him so they could flip him at the deadline. Same with Benoit. These guys used to be decent defensemen.

Enroth is at least tied for best player on the team this year. Is he the long-term guy? I don't know. Maybe some of us (me included) are getting a little carried away with selling anyone other than the young studs.

I never considered Hacket to be that promising.
