The Flyers ain't going to look any better by trading high picks and prospects for them.

Let's face it, the Flyers aren't making the playoffs this season. It's not going to happen. They're 11 points back, have no games in hand, have no momentum and a flawed roster.

I think I'd be happy with a retool. Something along the deadline and offseason that brought us Coburn, Upshall, Biron, Kukkonen, Briere, Timonen, Hartnell, Lupul and Smith. Not to this extreme in terms of turnover of players but we have Giroux and Voracek right now. Compliment our current youth.

As long as it's something being done with a specific purpose..

Trading Coburn just for the sake of shaking up the team doesn't fix the problems.

A retool is great, but they can't afford to retool by dumping picks the way Homer did back in the wake of the horrible 2006-07 season and in the subsequent seasons....and especially after Pronger got hurt.

Best way to retool is to have good prospects on hand. They're cheaper and there's no ned to trade for them

Clarke or Holmer would be scheduling press conferences and drafting "He's done a lot for the organIzation" speeches right about now...hell Clarke would have had that poop on tap in the second intermission.


...but I agree that we are going to have to weather the storm this season. Hopefully a few TDL/offseason moves and some good drafting and development will right things quickly. This ain't Flyer Hockey.
