I don't remember being angry or disgusted when the Flyers were lost in the wilderness for the 5 consecutive years they missed the playoffs. Maybe I'm just turning into a grumpy old man, but I don't want to watch this hot mess that takes the ice game in and game out.

I like this group of players as individuals, they're a decent group of guys, but the whole is much less than the sum of the parts here.

- Doc_Sarcasm

Good group of guys, but they don't fit well together.

Might have to cut deeper into the forwards than I thought

It's not the coach, man -- they need to get players off this roster, first

Some of these dudes need fresh starts elsewhere

- AllInForFlyers

I'm not blaming the coach. I just don't want to see Berube thrown under the bus and then replaced by either of the two aforementioned clowns I despise.

If Berube gets thrown under the bus and replaced by Raptor Jesus who leads us to the Promised Land of Multiple Stanley Cup Victories, well then I will recover nicely from my disappointment, I'm sure.

Agreed..Read, Couturier (for a number 1 dman or left wing) , B Schenn, everyone else that is a forward or Dman... Not named Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds or Laughton..Possibly MDZ.

They just aren't getting it done..

One night you fall behind to 2-0 to the Canes.
The next night its 3-0 to the Devils.

I mean something has to change.

- opeth_pa

Exactly -- it's not all on the coach. Sometimes, rosters get stale and players stagnate

Can't be scared to move Read, Schenn, anyone

Are you sure he's not talking about London, England?

That is a little overkill. Coots is what 20 years old and you want to give up on him already? Look how that worked with JVR. This team is not playing well together, the D needs to be revamped but that wont happen for awhile.

Understand -- my hatred of Tortorella is all-consuming, and I don't even think Bylsma is a good coach. Think he is simply one of those guys who had a gifted roster

When the consistency and effort can't be sustained for 60 minutes any night then the coach deserves some of the blame as well.

Hes selling himself short or deluding himself. He should either be in Boston or followin team Canada

It's a safe bet a good portion of this has to do with the coach. He's getting zip out of these guys.

He might make a push but would probably be best to stay in juniors.

If Giroux is out for an extended period -- let's just say I am not surprised he is out tonight, with where that cut is -- then yeah, they really could lose a ton of games really, really quickly

Yah moving him for a number 1 dman or number 1 left wing is giving up on him..

He might be 20 but he also has 243 games played in the league. Please note I am not saying trade him for a draft pick (unless you can get 1 or 2 this year).

Im just saying it's easier to replace a 3 line checking center then it is to get a number 1 dman or left wing under the age of 30.

Maybe he's there to ask Dale Hunter what he's doing next year?

Sitting through this type of season, and having it not bare any immediate help via the draft is going to be tough to swallow. I know if they pick in the top 10 they are going to get a solid player. I'm holding out hope they can sneak into the top 3.

I don't love Berube, but when you are relying on this roster to score goals and prevent them...let's just say that I have sincere doubts about Schenn and Simmonds to ever not be streaky, even if Scotty Bowman was back there

Simmonds is probably a slightly below average player at ES.

Doubt he gets much bigger but maybe add some strength.
