Even his interview after the game was fun with his "I panic a lot"
- opeth_pa

Yeah...Not sure I if I was giggling at his humor or in staggering relief

I realize I may be in the minority on that one.

They were flat out terrible tonight. One of the worst games of the year. More efforts like this make you wonder if berube is going to make it to the end of the year.

C'mon read on the first line? Guy hasnt done a damn thing right and all of the sudden it's going to click? He has never played well with g and jake even when he was the old read.

It cost them a game. Big minus tonight for berube

- Just5

I've been pretty defensive when it comes to Berube, because I see this roster is the Island of Misfit toys.

But tonight's game is the kind of game that gets a coach fired, right, wrong, or indifferent.

That pace is absurd.

For reference, Giroux was just under a 2 PPG player in the Q for his last TWO (2) years in junior hockey.

It's not a good roster, and no, there's not a coach out there that makes it much better. But tonight was such a perfect storm of my issues with Berube.

The guys I've been asking/begging/pleading to be scratched for MDZ, Schenn & Colaiacovo had brutal games. His "adjustments" not only weren't effective, but they were actually damaging to the team's chances to win.

I'm not saying he should bury Grossmann, Coburn, MacDonald or anyone, but I'd like to see the benchings be more balanced. I don't want anyone sitting for 8 or 9 straight.

That said, they came out and got beat tonight. They executed poorly and really seemed to lack the ability to channel andy kind of intensity or emotion into the game until late.

As much as I am not a fan of Berube, I still wait to make a coaching move-for the same reasons I advocate not re-signing Schultz right now or any other rash moves...outside of shaking up the snowglobe, there's not really a reason to eliminate any options that are currently available.

If they fired Berube & hired Bylsma, well, there's the coach for the next couple seasons. Regardless of who else was available or interest, you pulled the chute. It closes doors.

Last thing this team needs now is a closed door.

My first thought was for his health. I love Giroux. He's a great player, and a goofy bastard. I like that mix. I was so glad he didn't get seriously hurt
- Jsaquella

He is goofy but I like it too... most people outside Flyerdom don't realize that he's the top scorer in the last 4 years as well as over the last calendar year.

Also loved the interview. I panicked! No poop you crazy ginger, we all did!

His size will cause him to drop to the Flyers...and we will have G and mini-G.

You all will be so mad when they report Giroux has a partially torn achilles tomorrow morning
- PhillySportsGuy

This group will be mad when we win tomorrow, with Emery in net, Vinny scores that game winner and Luke Schenn is in the line up to throw three checks, one on Jagr.

Oh, I'm not advocating the move. I've been fairly against it, actually.

But that game and that effort....that's the sort of game that gets people (read: coaches) fired.

True. We'd all rather see them win. It's a lot more enjoyable the next morning

Eh, I know what they are.

Just entertain me.

I want to watch Baby Schenn and Couturier grow up. I want to watch Giroux and Voracek do Voodoo Ginger poop on the rest of the league.

They aren't gonna win alot. I get it. I see the roster.

Just don't bore me.

What I am seeing is a pattern of disinterested starts to games and awakening mid way through the third just in time to lose by a goal. Why can't they start a (frank)ing game like they care??? Is that on the coach? Maybe because he can't seem to light a fire even with the scratches.. (except for Vinny).

And I like THAT variation as well.

I realize the logo will NEVER change, but I like what other teams have done with the Flyers motif more than what the Flyers (and more likely, whichever company is making their jerseys) have done.
