Back to back fumbles by Cook killed them, without those the game is very different. The result maybe the same but it wouldn't look that bad.

He definitely wasn't the only offender. Fact is, he needed to have a big game, and he didn't.

The most recent thing i saw was myers for larkin, jurco/sheahan, and their first. Holland said no. This was apparently after murray backed off of insisting on anthony mantha. Make of that what you will.

He actually took what was there and didn't press, IMO he is a way better pro prospect than Mariotta. Marriotta is a great college player, i don't see how his game translates to the pro game.

Agreed on Mariota. I think Winston land an NFL job no problem, but all the sideshow crap is going to throw up some red flags. Trouble just seems to follow him wherever he goes, and that may cause him to slide. If he just showed up and beat Oregon tonight, I think some of those flags would go away in the name of "who cares? The kid just wins."

Look, I'm not going to argue this one. Personally, I think it's needless, unwarranted complaining that I want our fanbase to rise above, but what the league does or doesn't do with Zdeno Chara is really irrelevant to Tyler Myers' case. All the effective players figure out what they can and can't get away with. Tyler Myers needs to do that, just like everyone else. And if he doesn't, it's nobody's fault but his own, regardless of his "repeat offender" status. That's a cop out and nothing more.

When we are good, our players will get the benefit if the doubt

I think that was Alfie, wasn't it?
- BigStew

Yes, however, Chara was a pylon multiple times in that series. He may have benefitted more so than any other player in the overall slow down in the speed of play the past few years.

Exactly, just like they did in 2007.

And this is not to say that Tyler Myers won't be able to figure this out. I think he will. He just hasn't yet.

Chicago gameplanned to go at him during the 2013 Finals and they weren't shy about saying it either.

True enough, if he comes out this year someone will take a chance on him, to much talent not too.

I think you can build with him, but not around him. I've said this before, and I still stand by it. If this team is to become a championship team, they will need a defenseman that is better than Tyler Myers on it. Whether that's Ristolainen, Zadorov, or someone else not in the system/on the roster yet, is something the Sabres will have to figure out. That doesn't mean they need to, or even should, get rid of him though.
- buffalofan19

Personally, I don't think he hit a peak at 19.

His offense didn't just disappear, it's more the team he's on.

Having one of the lowest offensive zone starts in the NHL while being on a bad team is the reason he isn't scoring. That and a career low shooting % that will eventually go back to normal

His defense this year has been excEllent.

I firmly believe he's our #1-2 with Risto long term

Heard an interesting rumor.

In 2013, if EDM or Carolina took Ristolainen before us, we would have taken Domi at 8

We somewhat have a Domi in BRENDAN LEMIEUX

Also think Murray was trying to trade back into the 1st for Larkin.

I heard an interesting rumor on Colin Cowherd's show about two weeks ago. He had two sources telling him that if Michigan could not get Harbaugh, then they were going to get a currently employed coach who had college ties. This coach was not sure if he was going to be employed much longer. And he thought, as well as his sources, that it would be a great hire. Someone nobody was thinking about.

On his show Wednesday, he finally said who that coach was. Doug Marrone. With the ownership change, things were very much in limbo.

I see Myers more as a top 2nd pair defenseman

I found it interesting though how much more they liked Risto a and Domi than Nurse who went 7th

Points aside, he's been a legit top pairing defensemen for going on a year.

He's handled the toughest comp. and done relatively well against it

He started rough last season, and had a bad lockout year

Ruff didnt do him any favors. Telling him he had to concentrate on his own end and not rush the puck didnt help things. Im not his biggest fan, but he plays with more confidence when hes able to actually make plays. I thought the myers to dallas rumors were funny- i cant imagine either of them want a reunion.
