Ruff didnt do him any favors. Telling him he had to concentrate on his own end and not rush the puck didnt help things. Im not his biggest fan, but he plays with more confidence when hes able to actually make plays. I thought the myers to dallas rumors were funny- i cant imagine either of them want a reunion.
- rover16

Funny thing is Ruff's system is perfect for Myers, he likes his defensemen aggressive and he relies on good goaltending.

Your right though, after one year they thought he could become this Chara like shutdown player

I also thought it was a huge mistake rarely pairing him with a good veteran like Ehrhoff and playing them both 25+ minutes

We somewhat have a Domi in BRENDAN LEMIEUX

Also think Murray was trying to trade back into the 1st for Larkin.

- Irish 14

I found it interesting though how much more they liked Risto a and Domi than Nurse who went 7th
- sbroads24

Nurse was a beast last night, I liked that kid back when he was draft eligible and still think he will be a good one.

Heard an interesting rumor.

In 2013, if EDM or Carolina took Ristolainen before us, we would have taken Domi at 8

- sbroads24

good thing darcy regier got the X then .. i would of been pissed

if he wanted Domi he could of moved up into 11 he was was going late 15 in that draft

and if we had a redraft Curtis Lazar would go top 5

Not sure about top 5.

Lindholm has done well, Jones, Mackinnon, Barkov have all shown flashes.

Monahan, Risto are already good NHL'ers.

Such a great draft though

As long as they don't just give Frank Reich the job and don't interview anyone else

He's a former Buffalo employee, so automatically he's the "front runner"

So anyone with ties to Buffalo automatically sucks?
I get the reluctance with a majority of the past losers, but I do think there are some bright spots as well. Reich's been gone for what, 15 years ... Not like he was part of the 15 year playoff draught.

No, I want them to look for the best candidate, not the best candidate that middle aged Buffalonians will go crazy over .

Points aside, he's been a legit top pairing defensemen for going on a year.

He's handled the toughest comp. and done relatively well against it

He started rough last season, and had a bad lockout year

- sbroads24

He's def been better. And I think he'll be good. But I don't ever see him being a "shutdown" defenseman, therefore I don't see him as a true top pairing guy. Unless he can become a guy that can carry the play like Lindstrom did, I think he's 2nd pair type guy. Which is great for us, bc that should give us one heck if a 2nd pair

Personally, I don't think he hit a peak at 19.

His offense didn't just disappear, it's more the team he's on.

Having one of the lowest offensive zone starts in the NHL while being on a bad team is the reason he isn't scoring. That and a career low shooting % that will eventually go back to normal

His defense this year has been excEllent.
I firmly believe he's our #1-2 with Risto long term

- sbroads24

Which is why, if we end up with Hanifin, I'm good with it. We need that offensively dynamic defenseman still. I don't think there's anyone like that in the organization. A guy who controls the game.

A Myers/Hanifin...Risto/Zads top four is easily a f uture top 5 in the league

So, based on a job interview, what if Frank Reich ends up being the best candidate?

90% of people on here will still cry, cry, cry...
