I laughed at an islander guy on here about a week ago when he said Strome is nearly untouchable and I said id take Eberle any day of the week over Strome.

I actually watched the game tonight and he has some mad skills. Scary

He is the real deal! He has made any line he's been on better. At his age, that's amazing!

They , Lee and Strome, are proving what was said before, Grabovski and Kulimen are 3rd liners. Whoever they play with will score, look at Nielsen last night and against Washington he was much better in O zone. Wonder how they would look on JT 's wings? Or are the Isles better off with them on 2nd line to spread out scoring?

Lee is an absolute beast and he keeps getting better. He will be the key to the top line. Monster along the boards.

Lee is awesome. Wonder if it's time to put Nelson with JT and KO and have Bailey center the Grabo line?

I know Winnipeg was missing a few key guys, but they play a punishing style of hockey. I'm glad the Isles showed up ready to fight for ice and play, because you could see how if you go into that building expecting to coast to a win, you could be in for a world of hurt.

Strome's just getting better and better. The way he turns away from checks along the boards and then sets up plays is impressive. And Lee's a better version of the good player we saw late last season. We haven't had an immovable net-front presence like that in a long time.

Wondering what they do when Grabner's ready. I want him back in there...he looked good in the few games he played -- scored twice and added some new elements on the PK and 5-on-5 with his speed. Who would you guys take out, if anyone?

As long as the Isles keep winning, I'm not sure I'd take anyone out to play Grabs right now, based on the old theory, "If it ain't broke...." When they next lose, my decision would probably be based on who had the weakest game.

It's great to have some depth at forward!

No #Isles on waivers today, so Michael Grabner won't be back tomorrow barring an IR move. Practice at 1 in Calgary.

Guess the first question is who do you waive; then who do you sit. Gotta waive Strait, no? You have Donovan there to plug in if there's an injury on the West Coast swing, and Reinhart was capable on his last call up, so he's there to call up as the 8th d-man if a couple of players go down. Plus Czuczman and probably Mayfield at this point would be better short-term call ups, if necessary, than Strait.

Very interesting tweak of the line-up. I think it's been a while since Bailey centered a line, but this might help to get the top line going again....

I sort of like the idea of having two lines with lots of scoring potential, so I'd probably keep Lee with Strome.

I agree. Strait is the odd man out. It would be interesting to see if he clears waivers. There are some teams with some banged up d-men (Winnipeg, e.g.), so we might be shocked to lose him.

It's going to be really interesting to see what is done with Grabner. He can also go on the Grabo line and you have Grabo center the line. Someone has to come out of the lineup though. Just think Nelson needs to be in the top six and LW on JT's line is a good spot.

Cappy post game on Strome. Seriously, he should start limiting the amount he speaks to the media. Dumb things come from his mouth whenever it's open.

"Ryan's a skill guy, but a lot of skill guys don't perform well in the NHL," Islanders head coach Jack Capuano said of the team's fifth overall pick in the 2011 NHL draft. "It takes a little bit of time because they don't want to play without the puck.
"Everyone can play with the puck. His game away from the puck has picked up. He had to get to the interior. He had to get to those tough, greasy areas if he wanted to perform, because a lot of his points in the American (Hockey) League (with Bridgeport) were outside."

He is actually right. The difference between a Zach Parise and a Jeff Tambellini isn't talent. It's desire. Desire to get your nose dirty, get to the net and not hide on the halfboards

I like that idea a lot but why not just have grabo center the line. He's a natural center and played center last season. I know Bailey was a center but he hasn't been there in years.

The offense isn't broken, so why are we fixing it?

Yep...nice pickup for the Pens. Gotta wonder about the Oilers though…is the problem there really not enough first-round picks? They should be bringing in players. Unless they intend to package this pick for a player…

It's gives them flexibility to move up in the first round in a very deep draft
