Berube logic: "I like keeping the Grossmann-Streit pair together, ya know, because they have been so damn solid."

I would like to see the pairs as follows.

Del Zotto-Coburn
Schultz-Schenn
Amac-Streit

I keep running it through my head how the Islanders can possibly be thriving without them. I can't come up with anything.

I wish I had the kind of job security that Grossmann has.

Nothing wrong with Streit... Amac played fairly well with them too. In fact the last time they made the playoffs that was their 1st unit. Just saying....

"So Chief, your team has only been able to win two games when scoring three or fewer goals... what's your solution to that?"

"More Nik Grossmann."

I like the way our defense has been playing, Berube before the Arizona game.

Last 5 games, Flyers allowing 3.4 GPG. Awesome defense

2014 5th rounder Oskar Lindblom, already having a great WJC tourney, has a pair of goals today

C'mon... in all fairness to Grossmann, he's having the most prolific goal scoring season of his career.

A few of these dmen in the pipeline have to pan out right?

Yeah but being able to pan out and make it to the NHL versus developing into legitimate 1st pairing defenseman is a wide range. The Flyers absolutely need a proper 1st pairing D man.

Yeah, Hagg has looked solid at the WJC and AHL. Gostisbehere showed smarts and skill in AHL, Morin's been good in QMJHL, if not at WJC, Sanheim's been tearing it up in WHL, Alt's been a bit inconsistent since his injury.

would you look to trade him for a first round pick this year from a playoff team, picking 20s-30s in the first round?

I don't think I would trade him for a second round pick unless something else was included in the deal

- Marc D

Yes, I would absolutely trade him for a 1st to a contender and I think you would have no problem getting that for him.

I'd settle for a third pair that isn't making $7mm against the cap

Luke Schenn out, MDZ in.

Guess the Grossmann immunity challenge is stronger than the team's horrible transition game

- Jsaquella

Hell, I'm just glad to get MDZ in

I don't understand it either. That D the islanders run out are unproven. Unproven I say!!

You would hope so. I don't see Morin making the Flyers next year. If he can't crack top 6 of under 20's.. Just don't see him cracking top 6 of NHL team next year. Maybe he is 2 years away.

It's nice to finally have some legit prospects. Track their progress and whatnot. The injury to Ghost really sucked. Basically a full developmental season down the tubes.

OT Phillies get younger, trade Byrd to Reds for minor league pitcher
- Jsaquella

In theory that is a smart move. However since the deal was done by Rube the boob Amaro, I shudder to think how lame the pitching prospect must be.
