By the way, Sean Couturier has as many even strength points (15) as:

Ryan Johansen
Joe Pavelski
Nathan MacKinnon
Marian Hossa
Brad Richards
Jordan Eberle
Tomas Plekanec
Kyle Turris

And more than:

Jason Spezza
Jeff Skinner
David Perron
Scott Hartnell
Chris Kunitz
Jaromir Jagr
Gabe Landeskog
Anze Kopitar
Eric Staal
Wayne Simmonds
Alex Steen
Paul Stastny

- NickTheKid87

I also read that he got two offensive zone starts last night, and scored 2 points.

My view was to give Berube the job until the playoffs were basically unreachable.

The Flyers are 8 points out, and the 2nd wildcard team (NYR) has 2 games in hand. They have three other teams to jump to get to the Rangers and the games in hand picture is bleak there, too (Have 1 game in hand on BOS, 0 on OTT and FLA has 3 games in hand on them)

Not to mention, Columbus is getting healthy and now sits one point behind them, with two games in hand. They really needed to get points last night.

I think that there's no way they are a playoff team now.

- Jsaquella

They haven't been a playoff team since opening night.

Behind the net has Couts at 38.4% and Read at 40.0% at 5v5

Good catch, I was looking at o-zone finish. Disregard.

Yeah I'm not sure why MDZ at the least hasn't gotten a shot. He struggles for a bit and is buried but we have seen other players sit out a game (or none) and get thrown right back out there. MDZ has had some off the ice issues though. He was liking girls Instagram selfies in the pressbox on Saturday which I'm sure Berube won't like.

As for Couturier, him and read are at 45% for O-zone starts this year which is 10% more than they were getting a month or so ago so at least that number is trending in the right direction.

- NickTheKid87

They have been getting slowly better, but since the new 4th line was formed, they have stagnated again. At one point last night, Giroux had 8 OZ starts, Vinny & Laughton had 4 each and Couturier had 0. IIRC that was early third.

I have a question.

Would anyone take a chance on Tom Wilson if you could make a deal. I think he is a bigger winger that can do more. I don't think Washington uses him right and plaster him to the 4th line.

why do you hate berube? THe longer he sits behind the bench the higher the lottery balls...Berube will be taken to the woodshed after hextall gets his ping pong balls...do you really want a new guy to come in and have them draft 10-14?
- PhillaBully

I want to lessen the damage done to the kids on the roster. They're not picking top 3 with Berube, unless the ping pong balls fall right.

Wilson's most common linemates are Ovechkin and Backstrom. He's played on a line with them much of the season

Maybe. I wouldn't give up a ton to get him, because I don't think his ceiling is that high. But agree that the Caps have done an awful job handling him. They went from burying him on 4th line to playing him with Ovechkin. All over the place

I am sorry. I hadn't seen much this yer of them. I just knew in the begining and for a while they seemed to use him like a 4th line checker.

I would really like a big bodied winger with skill to either play with the giroux or couturier line.

Soon.

Berube eventually makes the right moves, typically about 2 weeks after they should be done.

- Marc D

The right decision? You mean putting a guy back in who couldn't stick with the last two (now make it three) teams he's been on? And went unsigned before the defensively desperate Flyers picked him up? Guys, if we are looking forward to a guy like that back in the lineup, that's pretty sad.

Agreed, science states that we deserve McDavid. Religion justifies it and art professes it.

Fact. Sermon. Poem. McDavid to the Flyers.

I've told Connor Myself he deserves to be here...he lives with my cousin in Erie. Although his agent is not a big fan of the Flyers.....Connor wants to go to Buffalo...

Good thing they just won 40 years ago, and have an 82 year old owner! Two things that lead to lots of patience!
- PLindbergh31

well one thing that gives me hope is they have a brand new GM which could mean more patience. Homer was given the same time when he first took over for Clarke but as time wears on the patience obviously subsides. Given the anchors Hexy was given you have to think he is alloted time to right this ship. obviously prospects are just that but the bright side is they do seem to have talent coming along. I wonder what their plans are for Lindblom. Would love to see them bring him over sooner rather than later much like Hagg

He's not that guy. He's had opportunities to succeed. He's just never been able to develop any offense. I think he's a Kassian type player.

We need some heavy bodies up front though that can skate with some skill. Abu kubel and leier are smallish.

Yep, the guy who was playing 20+ minutes a night and playing at a higher level than the rest of the defense before getting hurt and then rushed back to the ice after 1 game and then got buried.

The guy who is the front runner for the Norris is Mark Giordano. He failed with a few teams and had to run off to Europe to find his spot. It's amazing that Del Zotto could go from 20+ minutes a night to not being able to get on the ice so quickly.

I would love a plyer like Kassian, Beleksy, Wilson.

They have skill and play a heavy game. Our team lacks phsycality. not just the fighting. Just a guy who can deliver a solid it and then make something happen.
