Tough to compete with those Arizona Yotes. They are a juggernaut.
- PLindbergh31

They've beaten Anaheim, LA, Toronto, Vancouver, San Jose and Washington this season. Forget their overall record -- on a given day, the Coyotes can beat anyone. It's just the way it is in today's NHL.

The abysmal PK is the direct fault of the coaches who changed the system to be more aggressive this season. Berube and Lappy both deserve to be fired.
- Feanor

Awful isn't it. Awful awful pk with a roster loaded with slug defensive d

We'll see how long that lasts. He has been a little too patient as far as keeping this current squad together, IMO. Keep the youth, get rid of the dead weight by any means necessary.

I agree Bill. The loss wasn't as shocking as the effort was. The second period they went through the motions.

They have no heart man. I cant stand to watch it. If they at least fought for every inch, every game.... and lost still. I would feel better.
- GOA88

True, at least a team like Buffalo seems to give their all every shift, and they are loaded with good prospects and 3 first rounders in the 2015 draft.

Second period awful and third was too little, too late.

If they keep playing Dubie, they might not be in the cellar for long.

I don't need an all out brawl. I just need a team playing tougher. People look to Simmonds to provide some physical play but I think the problem with Simmonds is he isn't as naturally skilled. I might be saying it wrong but they need a player like Evander Kane or in that mold. He can snipe, has speed to burn yet in a game like last night he could have really brough some energy with a heavy hit to get things going in the forecheck. But in doing that it isn;t like he is without skill. Simmonds can score on the power play but at ES I haven't seen him really do something to change moment where I think Kane could.

And Yes I know the team has more problems then just that but it is one I have been seeing.

- J35Bacher

I think the team needs to play tougher too, but I think going out and acquiring Evander Kane isn't going to do that (I know your aren't necessarily saying go out and get Kane). One of the hardest things to play against is a team that will stand up for their teammates.
Also, I think you are selling Wayne Simmonds skills short. He has very good hands in tight and has a decent shot, which he has used before. He excels in front of the net, and as far as I’m concerned, a goal is a goal which he had 29 of last year and already has 15 this year.

I am not asking him to carry the play. He was supposed to provide some physical pressence. I don't see it. And I know it isn't just Simmonds. It has to be a team thing. But I wouldn't say Simmonds is one of the more natural skill guys like Jake or Claude so I would expect him to provide someother things like a little physicality. Not going after a guy after the whistle or just fighting.

That is why I like kane. He couold change momentum with a hit but he isn't without skill to also do something after that hit. I don't hate Simmonds. Just bringing up something I have been seeing.

- J35Bacher

Simmonds is a good fighter, but he's 182 lbs and built like a toothpick. Sadly, their only forwards with decent size are Umberger, Vinny, Jake and VDV and none of them are known for physical play. They could really use a couple big wingers with decent speed who like to mix it up a bit.

I never thought in a million years a 185 lbs player like Simmonds would be considered a power forward. God I miss Lindros and LeClair.

All of those teams have hit rough patches at various points this year. Anaheim was without perry. Yotes have also feasted on the oilers for 3 or 4 wins.

With a crappy team, yes any given team/night flyers can get beat I guess

Keep dreaming. The Yotes won't move OEL for anything less than a franchise forward, and I'm not even sure if they'd move him then.

Must be nice for Dubnyk, he actually has a team that plays some D for the first time in his NHL career

So then why would the Yotes make the deal? Think of it the other way around. How would you feel if Hextal traded your stud defensman for prospect, B. Schenn who we still don't know what he is and a pick.

Yotes sat back in their 1-2-2 after scoring. Teams that play with great structure tend to make the flyers look slow and perimeter oriented

the only way this team will be good again is through the draft...the Flyers have 5 players that other teams would want
