Bringing in a fresh starter like Grabner to replace any sluggish forward is a plus. I think he did score in his first game back. Speaking of fresh forwards, know you guys will object, but McDonald has been scoring for BRI and he does have size so he could be an injury replacement, especially on this seven game road stretch.

Unless there are multiple injuries to F's, McD should never see NHL ice again.....

Well this is a business and as long as you have guys like McD and 'cough, cough' Strait under NHL contracts, they are paid to play in the NHL until the Reinharts and MDC's are ready to replace them.

In fairness, when a team has issues obtaining talent a GM signs borderline players to fill holes/gaps until either more talent is acquired or prospects are ready, so that fringe players at low costs would be replaced......

Understood, but the point is that C-Mac is maybe 3rd on the forward depth chart behind Grabner and Boulton. (Against some teams he might play ahead of Boulton.) So unless, as someone else said, there are multiple injuries, he's unlikely to get the call.

The Pens are technically in first place due to more ROWs, but the Isles have a better chance of winning the division title, according to this website........probably due to an easier schedule for the remainder of the regular season.

Me, too! Or, to put it more positively, 97% chance of making the playoffs. Even higher than the Pens' chances of making the playoffs...

Exactly, McD and Strait are suited to come in and play a few games when there are injuries but they are not there to suit up for every game. Sometimes teams swap fringe players on two way salaries because they are really slated for the minor league roster.

If Mcd and Strait were higher level NHL talent they would be either playing full time for the Islanders or their agents would push to have them traded. These days any player making a million or less in their late 20's or older can be a borderline player.

Strait is not suited to play anywhere for any team in the league. The guy is that bad.

Stamkos went 8 games without a goal.
Crosby had 2 goals in 13 games.

Even superstars have "slumps" or dry spells.

Everyone get over it.

- jmo16

Yes but in the 8 games without a goal, Stamkos' game didn't deteriorate, he didnt take bad penalties and make bad choices.

In the 13 games where Sid only had 2 goals, he was still doing everything else right to help his team win.

JT not so much.

Brian Strait is a goddamned joke. He hasn't had a good game this season and last season he got a pass due to injuries (although I still thought he sucked, I cut him some slack)

he'll get waived and if there is a higher power he'll be claimed by someone chasing us in the standings, and cause them to lose several games singlehandedly.

Yeah, considering that Orpik's contract would have been good for Orpik....5 years ago...I'd say Bouchuk is the perfect age for that kind of coin and term.
