agreed. not a chance the leafs swap lupul for richards unless a pretty nuce piece was also coming back.
Richards for Clarkson makes sense though. similar production, salary, and term.
Clarkson: 9,3,12-35 (5.25 mil)
Richards: 4,8,12-36 (5.75 mil)
A change of scenery could help both of these former top 6 forwards. - GardinerExpress
Clarkson is playing fine this year.
Forget about richards |

Clarkson . The Kings would keep Richards if clarkson was the return. All that's going on here is swapping 2 bad contracts for the other. |

Exactly. Richards is being moved for cap space or offense.
I think Richards to edm makes sense |

Yeah I'd say kings add in a lupul Richards swap but leafs add is a clarkson deal - Bieksa#3
couldn't really see the leafs adding much. the guy hasnt cracked 45 points since he left philly. 5.75 mil for 12 points thus far, could be the worst contract in the league |

Look at clarksons numbers. And he can't do the things Richards can without the puck.
Neither is great, but I doubt you'd find any team that would take Clarkson over Richards. And consider Clarkson has never scored 50 points |

The points aren't there for Richards anymore but the guy works hard on every shift. He is night and day compares to last year. You could tell pretty much from the start of the season that he worked his butt off during the offseason. Keep in mind he's been playing 3rd to 4th line min this year on a Kings team that doesn't score much to begin with for the most part. The guy just has that winning mentality that every team would love to have. The contract is obviously the deal breaker for those same teams though. I personally think CGY is one of the better landing spots just because that team is so young. |

Yak sucks, and we need to accept that. If they are willing to hand over Yandle I would take the deal and run. - Jeropotato
Use your head.... Yandle is a UFA at seasons end and he will run far from Edmonton. Regardless of how much Yak sucks this year, you don't give away assets for free. |

If the leafs got Richards.. We would have the highest salary for any 3rd line in the history of the NHL !
Clarkson 5.2
Komorov 2.9
Richards 5.7
13.8 million 3rd line ! If Nonis does that he would be fired |

Komarov is 3.9 I think. If the leafs havent fired no nuts for his contracts yet, why would they ever? |
