Furthermore I think we should reward a team for finishing high in the standings. So once the 3rd round hits we flip the draft so that the previous best team now selects 1st for the remaining rounds.

Bottom feeders still get their 1st and 2nd round picks which are the high % picks.

I'm re-watching The Sopranos (now that I completed Deadwood). It's on pause now while I watch the rest of the game.
- stashu

Sopranos , never watched (or should I say I refused to watched) that wanna be mob family show.

The stereotype is beyond comical.

It's nothing like any scenes I ever viewed during commercials but that's the fantasy world that most people live in when it comes to the 'mafia'.

Where has jvince been? Catching up on his housewives show?

Myers and Ennis better get us one hell of a return. If I had my choice I'd prefer to move Ennis and Pysyk.
- mhp

Shocked by this post to be fair mhp.

Not sure why Tim would move his best player in Ennis when we have very little talent up front to begin with.

All I can say is, respectfully, I am thrilled that you are not the GM of this hockey club.

You keep Ennis for certain.

If Murray keeps waiting to dump Myers for a decent return , before you know it, that return may be as low as a 3rd rounder.

And I only give Myers that much coming back because I am sure we can all remember Goose bringing us back a 1st.

I'll be a happy man when I can watch him in another sweater tripping over some other teams blue line leading to a 2 on 1 back the other way.

I'm not mad at fans who don't root for them. I just know these wins will haunt us. I also know it's time for Murray to move Stewart and Myers right now. And if anyone will take Hodgson, him too.

Oh and by the way Nolan is such a poopty coach, isn't he?

Every player just talks glowingly about him.

But the "experts" here no better.

What do the players know?

Serious question: If 29 GM's had their choice of Myers or Weber, how many do you think would pick Weber?

To be fair, Hat, most GMs around the league are sitting up and taking notice of Myers' play this year. Despite what some "experts" here know.

No offense Hardhat but your statements on Myers border on the ridiculous . You are only making yourself look like a bonehead with your continuous campaign. I know what you are trying to achieve in getting people riled up . But it is just tired at this point.

Being fair, I still don't see any type of significant elevation in his play.

Let me put it this way.

His 'value' will not go up any higher than it is right now in my opinion.

Myers is what we have seen year after year now.

A slightly better than average Dman on most nights and on others , the worst Dman on the ice for both teams.

I don't need to build my team around slighty better than average Dmen if I am Tim Murray.

I need steady DMen that I can rely upon to step up when facing other teams top lines if I want to go far in playoffs. Myers is not that player, not even close in my eyes. I've seen enough evidence of his poor play in the past few years without question far outweighing his good play.

If we are indeed making an effort towards 'building a winner' trade Myers now and get something of use for him before his stock dives below the curb line. It's merely my opinion from watching this game since the Sabres birth. It certainly isn't 'gospel'.

And also, I echo what Brad May said last night at the end of last nights telecast.

Hat, we all have our opinions on different players. Suffice to say we have moving parts that could get a trade done for Taylor Hall. I like Ennis but I'd move him and Pysyk in a second for Taylor Hall. Just my opinion.

Fun 3rd period last night.
I would have loved to have been in the locker room after the 2nd to hear Coach Theo's rant.

Deslauries is growing on me, was neutral on him before the year...wanted to see what GMTM saw in him...I see it now...high compete / energy guy.

Stewie is starting to get in his groove...building his value. While I would love to keep him if we could count on that compete level every game (or nearly every game) ... But like Staff...his history just doesn't support it, and I don't believe in changing the leopards spots.

Weber is an adequate rough you up 3rd pairing guy that's minutes should not exceed 15 per game.

Myers is average in every skill set so that would make him a 2nd pairing guy on most teams and 3rd on better ones.

Your question is not so easily answered however because it depends on what type of defensemen your team is lacking and what type of dmen you already have on your roster. If you already have 4 average Tyler Myers on your roster, why add a 5th if you are missing a grit guy for your 3rd pairing?

It's all what you as a GM deem is lacking on your blue line.

Most I assume would take a 2nd pairing guy in place of a 3rd pairing guy.

Hope that answers your question.

I wish as good as Henrik but I can certainly see your comparison.

But make no mistake, Jhonas is a number one in this league.

My only game of the year in Buffalo, loved it! Totally agree with you regarding all players mentioned. Stewart has all the tools, but there's something not there with him that I don't see fitting in to the long term plans of this team.

I agree. I like having Jhonas, but those 2 10 game losing streaks loom large.
