asset management could also be trading zucc because we still have stempniak and duclair to fill that hole. get a pick for zucc, that would be ideal and put duclair with nash and brass
- webleedblue

We aren't going to trade Zuccs and I am fairly confident the Rangers will find room to keep him long term.

E Staal (Car retains part salary) for Kreider, Miller, Moore?

obviously getting M Staal to agree to sign at a discount in advance.

we aren't going to trade Zucc for a pick. We are trying to win the Stanley Cup.

I dont see the rangers making a move like that before the deadline. And I dont want them to move hags either for the record. Im just saying that asset management is important...if we dont do this properly then we end up having good players walk for nothing like NJ and then have zero assets down the line.

Zuccarello is allowed to sign an extension on January 1st. When Brassard got his new deal, it was kind of implied that one was already worked out with Zucc. Not sure if his slow start has changed things, but things should become clear pretty soon.

I was thinking the same thing. Zucc was supposedly promised he would be the first UFA taken care of.

Lou Lamoriello will be on bench with Oates and Stevens for a short amount of time. Stevens and Albelin will coach D. Oates the forwards

The team is on a 7 game winning streak, why change anything? Miller has been one of the better skaters recently.

I understand wanting to get Moore and Stempniak into a game. Just not sure Miller is the player for it. I'd would have gone with Fast or Glass.

I have never been a huge fan of Stempniak this year. Pisses me off they keep trying to force him into the top 9 and powerplay.

I'm not a fan of him either. I'd like to see him trade if possible just for the cap flexibility.

Agreed on asset management.
Last year, around this time, everyone wanted MDZ gone and we were concerned with the impending UFA status of key players. I, at the time, wanted no trades, wanting to see how far that team could go. But, trades were made, and there is no arguing with success, so, I'll leave the roster and asset management to the pro's.
Though, considering the value paid to acquire MSL, i can't imagine him being in Blue for only 1+ season and (hopefully) two long playoff runs ...

Trading or waving him saves a whole whopping $0.9m of cap space ... He's a worthwhile 13th forward, while there is room for him. We just need the coaching staff to rotate him in and out of the 4th line, and plug him into the top 9 on an emergency basis only.

This team needs every dollar. Especially around the TD if they wanna make a move when the money is pro rated.

Why in god's name would Miller sit, Glass is useless in this game, NJ has no enforcers, AV had too much eggnog over the break

That wouldn't hurt lol

But still Miller should not be sitting. Especially when he is playing well. This might frank with his ego

Been trying to come up with a reason to sit him for the past hour or so and am no closer than when i started.

There is literally no reason to sit him, hope AV comes to his senses before 7

Supposedly Miller and Stempniak were supposed to rotate on the 3rd line during rushes this morning. But Miller never got in. So I give it a 0.1% chance he plays. At this point I am hoping it is due to some injury cause otherwise it makes no sense.
