only at noisy bars with half my attention (no sound) or at 3 am already knowing the outcome and drifted off

the only 2 games I focused on was the rochester games

I have not watched a single period on my big screen this season

This was the main reason I believe

The problem with this tournament in general lately is the amount of politics that seem to go along with it. It's not fair to the players that should get selected and don't. I'm sure he's not the first guy to ever to fall asleep and end up late to a meeting. I bet that the other guys didn't always end up cut from the team due to it.

I could see a team like Canada saying, "sorry, but we've got other options." But the Czech team? Seems a bit crazy.

We all did, but it's a question of WHAT THINGS you made a low priority.

Did you oversleep for a job interview? Or a meeting to discuss a promotion? Because that's what he did.

I know I woke up late for work a few times. And I'm not typically that type of person. But we're all human and poop happens.

Maybe you should before you go off about icing.

It's pretty nice, IMO, how they've handled it - hell with the rare boos from the fans when a linesman makes the wrong call.

As Goose mentioned, it's nice not seeing some of these senseless injuries of the past

Yea the politics are certainly there. That sucks though. I would have liked to have seen him play with Pastrnak, Vrana or Zacha

The Czech's could actually be pretty decent this year even without Karabacek

Also never hit snooze

Not much we can do about it now. It would have been nice to have another guy in the mix to keep an eye on during the tournament. Seems we have a few still. Stinks that Baptiste got cut from Canada too.

I've fallen asleep earlier than planned before and never turned the alarm on. Or thought it was on and it actually wasn't. I will never be the type of person that just wakes up by 6 am everyday just because. I thought maybe it would change when I got a day shift with consistent hours, but it didn't.

Yea I had high hopes for Baptiste. But there were alot of good players cut/ not even invited. Pretty weak. USA vs Canada should still be a fun one for us

I hope so. The US team has been a bit of disappointment the last few years. The year they played here was just bad. I am definitely looking forward to the game on New Years eve though.

Yes, and the two years on either side were pretty lousy. I guess it balances out.

Tis true.

In the last 5 years US has 2 Golds and a Bronze.

Canada has 2 Silvers in that time.

Let's hope they can add another Gold to that. Keeping Canada out of the medals again would definitely be nice.

I think the league prefers broken hands over cracked skulls after they take their helmets off and then fall and smack their melon on the ice.
- howie feltersnatch

Agree. However, serious question.....in the history of fighting in the NHL how many melons were split by hitting heads on the ice while falling after a fight? Is this number quantifiable? At what percentage pre-2014, 2010, 2000, etc..... were fights waged sans helmets?

Not that the kitchen didn't need it but the amount of time it'll take to clean the detergent out of the appliances along with the ruining of the lobster tails is quite the F you....twice moment.

The only way the NHL can allow fighting to continue is if it is with helmets on. With helmets off I fear the Government would step in with all the ALS issues going on with athletes.
