then outlaw it all together

the average player is out longer for a broken hand then a concussion

if they have concussion issues, they should not drop the gloves in the first place anyways

- homiedclown

I think it has more to do with the fact that concussions have a better chance at long term effects even after a player retires. They're protecting the long term health of the guys.

It's a catch 22 no matter what way you look at it. I think at some point fighting ends up getting taken out of the game because of this type of issue.

Pretty sure the line in Rochester was
Larsson-Grigorenko-Armia
At least it was for the two games I saw, but that was earlier in the season. Might have switched

- jdfitz77

For a while it was Carrier-Grigo-Armia

Then it changed

Makes you wonder how they feel about Grigo. This is 100% my opinion but I dont see him as a part of the future.
- MCGUIZZY

He needs to play with top 6 players

The problem is staff, coho are not second line players this season

honestly ennis and girgens are second line players on a real team

w/o having a top 6 that consists of girgens, gringo, reinhart, moulson, armia and ennis---- we will not know how good the kids really are

Yea I hear ya. I think they want to get a look at Armia on the top line though. Personally I have envisioned Armia playing with Ennis for some time now so im excited.
- MCGUIZZY

I personally wouldn't do it
Remember when we did that with Adam?
Kids confidence got wrecked when he couldn't keep up the expected production.
I'd be Ok with him playing with those guys on the pp though

Adam and Armia should not be compared period.

I'm sure they've been switched up. It's rare that any lines really stick together for a long time usually. Especially in the AHL.

Lines usually do switch up in the ahl quite a bit. Besides injuries, call-ups obv dictate that as well

yup

one day it will be more like olympics, family friendly, 15 disney movies a year on hockey and abc will be showing saturday afternoon games on disney

I think we are closer to that than the brawl days of the 70's

I don't think it's the same type of situation. Armia has always been touted as a highly skilled guy. Adam is a much different scenario.

Don't get hung up on their names...
What I'm saying is that its generally not productive to put a young kid in a situation he may not be ready for... Esp if he hasn't "earned" it

Honestly, I'm fine with it either way. I have to say, hearing about all the long term health issues these guys deal with afterwards makes me feel differently about it than if that wasn't the case.

It's starting to really gain some ground too because of all the NFL players that have come out and said that they can't lead a normal life because of the amount of pain they're in every day.

I know they get paid millions of dollars, but that money doesn't really mean much when you can barely get out of bed in the morning.

I think Armia has earned it. He's been busting his ass this year in Rochester. He struggled at times last year, but that's not out of the ordinary for guys that make the jump from Europe to North America. There's some adjustments that need to be made. Some handle it better than others, but I think the season he's having so far this year speaks volumes about how far he's come.

I know what you are saying. I just disagree. Armia would have been called up already had his injuries not gotten in the way. He has earned it. Armia played in a mens league before coming over and spent a decent amount of time in the AHL and performed well. Hes a top line talent that deserves a shot

agreed if they are worrying about long term health, esp beyond hockey then have no touch icing

they talk a great game about wanting to make the game safer, yet the number of brutal injuries caused from icing is insane

fix it or turn your back to it

the nhl has really been on the fence for so long and they really need to pick a path and stay on it

my 2 cents

it gives armia a chance to shine

it gives gringo crap

I am excited for armia

- homiedclown

One is a winger who can benefit off of Girgensons and Ennis creating chances, the other is a center who should be creating chances.

Armia is more NHL ready than Grigo IMO, Nolan wants to win games

He is dominating in the AHL on a shift to shift basis. He's better than Grigorenko right now, and I'm a big Grigo fan
