Finishing dead last didn't guarantee the #1 pick last season.

Foligno must have really messed his hand up in that fight. He's considered month to month with a significant hand injury.

As much as I like to see guys sticking up for one another, is the risk of an injury like this really worth it?

More crappy teams this year at this point in the season. Coincidence? I think not.

But I do think well be in the top 5 even with that being said. We had some puck luck during that win streak.

(frank). Once again Boston takes a big old chunk out of us and comes out on top. Our captain goes out. Veteran forward out and we lost the game.

1976 a distant second

7th rd pick Gaustad and 8th rd pick McMorrow are the only picks to see NHL games.

McMorrow only played 1.

That's the point. This is exactly why I say to just let Myers play the game he's good at. I don't need him in there doing stuff like Foligno did. I realize that this is a year that we weren't expecting great things from, so it doesn't really matter right now. But when this team does finally begin to compete, I don't want our top guys risking injuries like this if they can avoid it. I know injuries are going to happen, but this was a case of something that technically could have been avoided.

Murray stated he will ask Zads if he wants to play. If he doesn't the choice is easy. if he does, Murray will sit down with Gionta and other players who have played in the WJC. He will make his choice based on that.

It's not worth opening that can of worms right now.

Foligno did what he did because its part of his game. I would like to think there would have been at least 10 guys on this roster that would have went right after him. Myers probably would have too just not thrown bombs like Foligno.

1981 and 1986 were bad as well. The '73 draft stunk but Punch made it for it in the previous 2 drafts.

Last year, Myers' February leg injury was season ending. So was Neuvirth's. Gionta's concussion addled his brain badly enough it is "week to week." Moulson ill. Myers injured again.

I would say 73 was by far the worst in team history.

19 total games played out of 8 players selected.

Why do you say that? With as bad as the team is, they have had 2 players score their first career goals in the past week.

I don't care about the world jr's to be honest, if other teams start trading before we do, that will cause a problem for us.

Jack Eichel (BU, DE15) was named captain of Team USA at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship today and with the amount of leaders in that locker room, that's speaks rather loudly. Will Butcher (Denver, COL) and John Hayden (Yale, CHI) will serve as alternates. Leading without letters are JT Compher (Michigan, BUF), Steve Santini (BC, NJD), Hudson Fasching (Minnesota, BUF)....I could go on. So much leadership in the mix.

Here's a little good news.

This is true. I plan to watch. I just think that with the team being as depleted as it is, on the road in Detroit, we probably wont look so good.
