I give up. No matter what the team does with guys, 50% of the people around here complain about it.

If they call up guys like Grigorenko or Armia and play them in a bottom 6 role, the coach gets criticized for not using them properly and putting them on lines with guys who aren't going to help them produce.

If they get put in the top 6, the coach gets criticized for putting them in a role they didn't earn and is said to be setting them up for failure.

Could be more than 50%

I want them to lose but have the young players play well.

I don't care if Gionta ever scores, or Torrey Mitchell or Andrej Mezaros.

I want to see Girgensons get better, Myers continue to play well, Ennis do well. Anyone part of this teams future

- sbroads24

Winning does that, not losing. Constant losing does nothing to better the young players.

During the winning streak they had . Heard many times that the players were having fun , communicating on the ice. Things go easier when everyone is working together .

Long term I agree. For one or two bad years no.

Toews and Kane had a few bad years in Chicago. Stamkos, Tavares etc.

I fully expect us to make a few trades after this year to get one or two impact wingers

He is the most under rated player on this team.

It took 3 coaches to realize he's better than half the forwards here

Not sure if serious.

Imagine that.................. but everyone wants them to tank because that's better for the young players, why have these young kids play if they team is horrible.

Murray is going to have to make a decision with the direction of this team, no more waiting another 2 years or 6 months or another year.

Flynn? Yea, he's started 3 straight seasons (under Ruff, Rolston, and Nolan) on the bench or scratched and has by years end outplayed a lot of guys ahead of him.

1 or 2 years, how mauch longer do you want to wait? how much longer do they keep playing the "rebuild game" enough is enough Murray need to start moving in the right direction. How many more years do they need to wait?

You can't just now be noticing this, same way when they win or lose. " I want them to lose but why are they playing bad" ?
- SABRES 89

No, I'm not just noticing it. But I specifically got called out, even though I hadn't posted anything in hours by someone who pretty much just feels the need to disagree with me just because.

This is the same person who kept saying they wanted the Sabres to move Girgensons not even 1 year after we had drafted him. It's starting to get old.

I don't think some people understand how call ups work. I'm not saying you don't, but I'm going to throw this out there for the rest of the masses.

When guys get injured and a team needs to recall someone to fill in, there are several factors that play into who gets recalled. What role the player that is going to miss time plays is often the first thing considered. Usually then they look to see who plays a similar role in Rochester and of those guys, who's playing the best at the moment. Once they determine that, that's the guy they recall. At that point, they usually take the player they just recalled and plug him into the spot the injured player vacated. Every so often they just recall the guy that's been playing the best, since they feel that he deserves a shot to play with the big club.

Sometimes, instead of taking this route, they move someone else from the roster into that spot and put the recalled player into that one instead.

If you look at who's been injured recently and who's been recalled, you can see where a good portion of this logic comes in. Mitchell and Kaleta both missed time, so they recalled Schaller and Grigorenko. Schaller was essentially Kaleta's replacement and Grigorenko was Mitchell's. The second set is a bit odd, so that was probably a case where they felt that Grigs has earned a look with the big club.

In the middle of the season there's a lot of moving parts, and that's where the coach needs to figure out who to put where. I had no issue with Armia being put into Moulson's spot in the lineup. He's played against men for quite some time now. It's not his first year in the AHL from a Jr league. He's been playing in Men's leagues since he was drafted.

I thought for his first game, he wasn't bad. I would have liked to see him battle a bit more along the boards and in the corners, but he had some nice chances and wasn't a huge liability out there.

Why?

Marrone is playing his best option to try and beat our biggest rival, and EJ is a year 2 QB who obviously isn't as..umm.. ready to start as Orton. I don't see the correlation between the coach starting "the best chance to win" and him getting fired for it.

- TheSabresTaco

because orton is not a solution moving forward and any high school coach should be able to see that

if EJ stinks, there is a very good chance he is no an option moving forward as well

and it's a meaningless game for the pats so even if the bills win, does it really count regarding the rival?

Nobody will agree with me but.................. all i've seen from Pegula is buildings being built and donations being made. He set this team back even longer by not canning Darcy and Lindy, let's hope he's learned and fires Marrone.

Deslauriers too. I like moulsons game too. Not a great skater but knows where to go. Hard to not like a guy that can produce without the god given talent of other guys.

Until this season is over with. There is literally no point in trying to improve before then. We are in no way shape or form close to a playoff team.

From Julies blog

Team USA defeated Sweden last night, 10-5, in their final pre-tournament game before the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship starts on Friday, December 26th. Alex Tuch (BC, MIN) had a hat trick, Sonny Milano (Plymouth, CBJ) had five assists, Auston Matthews (NTDP, DE16) and Tyler Motte (Michigan, CHI) each had two goals, Nick Schmaltz (North Dakota, CHI) had a goal and two assists, Zach Werenski (Michigan, DE15) had three assists and eight other players had a point, none of them named Jack Eichel, who was named captain of the team earlier in the day.
