It is more than that though.

Too many long lazy shots on net that find a way in.

Too many soft goals from fairly safe areas get by the goalies.

Too many mental mistakes (pass straight to opposition with no team mate in sight...looks right at Scrivens) that end up with a red light behind an Oiler goaltender.

Lots of fan chatter on twitter about moving him if Pickard steals the net from him either this season or next. Dont see Picks keeping his ridiculous level of play up long term so I think its just fan boys really buying into the kid and getting too excited about him

Berra is as good as good this summer though, they will figure out how to move him, either minors, buy out, or give away for free trade. They really screwed that one up.

While it's not all D, the team in front of the goalie can cause a lot of good and a lot of bad.

If the team was competent in front of you, you should be in a relaxed state and play a sound game and focus only on the puck. However, when the team is poopting the bed in front of you, that can cause mental anguish and make teh goalie overplay or overthink every single thing that happens, causing the focus on just the puck to diminish.

It may have even gotten to a point when trying to settle down and relax and refocus on just the puck may be overwhelming right now.



Best example: turn to pro football. Think of a great QB, sure, they can make the plays and such, but if the offensive line is getting manhandled or is crap and letting the defensive players through, the QB isn't going to be as effective which can ultimately lose the game.
