Its funny when the league, in other situations where the person being hit puts themselves in a vulnerable situation, said the hit is still on the onus of the hitter. Yet they specifically made a point here to put blame on Gionta, where Bartkowski went out of his way looking for a hit rather than playing the puck that Gionta couldnt reach.... not an advocate of removing hits, didnt think this was a dirty hit targeting the head, i just hate how inconsistent the league has been on these things.

Don't forget, this is the same league that is paying Pronger to be an NHL employee while he's still also a player for one of their clubs.

The NHL just makes things up as they go which is exactly why it will remain a niche sport in the US.

I believe that's what I heard. And Foligno has a hand injury from punching Bartkowski's helmet during the aftermath, so he's out a while.

That's what you'd think. But they actually looked better during the last 2 periods last night than they did on Saturday even though it was the 2nd of back to back games and a bunch of guys are battling the flu.
