To me, if Lemieux ends up a top 6 impact player, Murray made a great pick.

I feel like his absolute ceiling would be as a 3rd line player that you notice almost every night.

If the Sabres have a 3rd line of Lemieux, Girgensons, Compher/Baptiste, because the rest of the top 6 is so good that they can't crack the top 6, the team is going to be deadly.

I was hoping they would get both Lemieux AND Barbashev. That would have been quite a coup, but I agree on both Cornell and especially Karabacek.

They have so many similar players to Cornel, Karabacek, Lemieux, Compher, Baptiste, Hurley, Fasching, Carrier, etc. that it all they need is that 1 great player and one additional either top line player or top pairing D to put them over the top. I do believe in Neuvirth as far as goaltending along with the other goalies they have in the pipeline.

It is very nice seeing both Schaller and Larsson make an immediate impact. It's starting to remind me of the last time the team was truly good, in how every player that came up played well.

That is going to show a lot about his mentality and professionalism.

It's going to be fun to see Larsson and Lemieux on a line together. Drive the other team crazy and still put some goals in every now and again.

Barb is the more complete player right now. Lemieux gets most of his points on the pp.

Barb- gp-29 22g 27a +8

In the last 3 years I can think of at least Lucic, Marchand, Ference x2 and Thornton (15 games) that have been suspended...

Yep. Same thing injured Kaleta. He tried to tap in an awful pass to the net and ended up eating the boards. Our passing has been awful lately.

He did well before Tchkev came, but they were just so dynamic together. I guess the Tchkev trade had a lot to do with more "off-ice" stuff. Barbashev will be a nice player in the NHL I think, not unlike the other Wildcat drafted for the Blues (Jaskin)

I truly believe that Murray did not want another Russian and that he preferred taking a Canadian there. I personally see Lemieux as a third line player but i guess that can change if he continues to put the puck in the net. Just hate taking third line players in the first couple rounds. SO heres to hoping hes more than that

Karabacek is very intriguing

in 2011-12 he put up 104 points in 32 games for the U16, he moved up to the U18 and still point up 29 points in 25 games
