Why does Lou care about that though ? He is still more valuable here then a crap return would be. I also haven't seen anything on either gm or player even considering it so for that matter why would they move him just because a team wants him ? You don't just get rid of him for nothing because that's what other teams want to pay. He isn't being shopped so why are we the ones settling on price ? I mean if a team doesn't like it they can feel free to say no we are likely getting a top five pick with our very own this year so that easily eases the burn of potentially losing jags for nothing to retirement or f.a.

I doubt he gets traded. It will be interesting which direction he goes in the offseason, whether he resigns with NJ or another team.

At this point I think he just wants to play the game, so as long as there's still a spot in NJ, my guess is he'd resign.

Well its based on the Devils not being in the playoff hunt and Jagr is on a 1 yr deal right? Why wouldn't Lou move him then? Sure Lou can ask for the stars but at the end of the day he'll take whatever he can get for him and move on. No reason to keep him if you guys are at the bottom of the league. Might as well get something for him. If he wants to play another year and doesn't care about playing on a good team then I guess he could come back and play with the devs again.

My thoughts to. I hate losing stuff for nothing nothing (happens way to often to the Devils ) would love to get something for him. I am even on board for trading Elias if it gets you another first. With the defense we got growing now plus a potential top 5 pick this year should go a long way in righting this ship. Also with jagr he is free to do as he pleases here and is practically a coach so I don't see why he would want to leave.

We have lost parise, kovy, clarkson, Martin and more all for nothing I think if we hold off and just keep him for room presence and what not we can handle it lol. I'm even up for moving Elias if it would get us another first.

Devils fans, look up what the Stars got for Jagr two years ago and then recalibrate your expectations.

And then look to past year and see he lead our team and almost had 70 pts and we will recalibrate our expectations again.

Gotcha. If you could get a 1st for Elias of course they should do it I just don't think it will happen. If teams couldn't get a 1st for guys like Vanek & Gaborik at the deadline last year I don't see guys like Elias getting that kind of return either.

I shan't waste my time, then. It's a lot easier (and cheaper) to get to Vegas anyway.

I agree in terms of this draft being even stronger but weird things always happen so you need to keep your standards high incase a team comes in and does feel desperate. Elias also has a year left on his deal so at the end of the day I don't know if that helps him fetch a better return or if it hurts it because he will be another year older lol.

I can't blame Jagr for being reluctant about returning to the Pens a few years back. Seems a bit silly in hindsight that they appeared to me more concerned with re-signing Tyler Kennedy . . . Being a longtime fan who watched him start out with the Pens at the age of 18 back in 1990, I'd selfishly love to see an encore performance regardless of how much hockey sense it makes.
