That's some (frank) up move on his part... a karate shop with the butt-end of your stick to a guy's face. And it looked unprovoked too... Seriously, he needs to be suspended. And suspensions for these kinds of acts need to be severe...none of those 1 or 2 game crap suspension that obviously are not a deterrent (as guys are not changing their behaviours).

And you know what, a guy that gets suspended should not be replaced on the roster...penalties like that to the team might put some pressure on coaches and GMs to have their players behave a little better rather than have them yell "finish your checks!"
