Bro, the Wings were last together in 1981. There were 3 separate lineups with the Wings, the last of which disbanded in 1981. I think McCartney has put out 16 studio solo albums.

I don't think Coburn has much offensive ability. He could certainly be giving the team more though
- PhillySportsGuy

Coburn had 36 and 28 points respectively his first 2 full seasons with the Flyers. Of course that team was a lifetime ago, but players don't forget how to assist or score goals. Rather his game was likely changed by a coach for one reason or another.

Once the Flyers added Pronger and Carle, Laviolette moved Coburn into a primarily defensive role, and his offense slowly disappeared.

Yea, just for the record, the Flyers are now 2-0 when I watch the game with my newborn baby girl.

- jak521

Haha Congrats man! We just welcomed our baby daughter to the world Saturday morning, so she's 2-0 watching the Flyers as well. Let's keep the roll going.

Yeah, I think the occupation happened over the weekend or something. I think the Berlin wall is supposed to come down soon as well, but I'll only believe it when I see it.

White can be a solid guy in a limited role. I do wonder if he's headed to the AHL for rehab

Well, the trio of Paul, "Linder", and that guy who was in the Moody Blues (his name escapes me) were staples in all 3 line ups. Drummers and lead guitarists filtered through I think.

Yeah but I was definitely wrong. I forgot about Ram and his first released album...I think it was named McCartney or something simple like that.

But those 2 albums had a lot of hits....Another Day (THIS SHOULD BE A BEATLES SONG DAMNIT), Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey, Maybe I'm Amazed... I'm sure I'm forgetting 1 or 2.

Then it was Wings time. They had a lot of hits obviously.

Has he had any hits post Wings?

That's a big part of why I don't see him as a guy you keep paying more money to retain. His offensive game dried up so, what are you left with? An inconsistent defensive game? People talk about his size and mobility, and yes, he is tall and has excellent wheels for a man of his height, but I don't know if there are many guys in the league who exploit those kinds of attributes less than Coburn does.

Honestly, I'd rather keep Grossmann at 3.5 mil than Coburn at 4.5 mil or more.

All defenseman in Coburn's class are inconsistent, or have some weakness to their game. That's why he's a 2/3 defenseman instead of a #1. The problem with Coburn is that he simply is not a lead defenseman. When he is placed in that role, like he is now, it affects him mentally. He feels the pressure and tries to do much, instead of staying within himself and playing a simple game. Put him with a player like Timonen, and he's a quality physical defensive compliment. It depends on what his salary demands are going to be in the future, but as long as it is not out of line, the Flyers need to think real long and hard about bringing him back. Big strong quality defenseman like Coburn don't grow on trees.
I'm a big Grossmann fan, and love him for the warrior that he is, but he is limited. The Flyers have to overplay him because they simply lack a legitimate top pairing. He's taken a physical beating, honestly, I think either one of Grossmann or Luke Schenn is where they need to cut to make room for one of the young defenseman.
