I didn't see the game last night for the most part was at an XMAS party but every once in awhile in this lovely game of hockey we love (and critisise) so much something happens that just impresses the hell out of me.

Hockey is truly unique. It really is the only professional sport to have the honor/integrity and 'code' that many believe doesn't exist.

I am referring to the Dorsett/Engelland fight yesterday night. I just caught Carol's highlights and it was so good to see Engelland wrap his arm around Dorsett's head before he fell to save him from a head-bashing on the ice. That to me is respect code and honor. I realise that the league is full of cheap shot artists and alot of that 'code' has exited the game since the instigator rule came in but still...that was impressive.

Good on you Engelland for showing the honor and intregrity that many NHL players adhere to and deserve. Well done.

I think both are pretty well respected around the league for the role they play. Kudos. Also they play a hard game and I don't think anyone wants to see someone truly injured by their hand.
I think that is why he went after Neil post fight. He(Neil) took that extra cheap shot after it was over. I don't think Dorsett would have done so.

With Tanev becoming a RFA I would not rush in and open up the vaults.

He is a very decent player . He does everything well but nothing great. I would not be opposed to seeing an offer sheet thrown his way. Anything after 3.3 mil would cost a first and a third. So I dont feel forced to say here is 4.5 mil plus for so many years. I think they can take their time ,yes play a little hardball and see what is the best option for the team.

I would try to trade for Krug also an use the same theory . see if anyone is offering a first rounder.
