Head of NHLPA, Don Fehr, said last week to @thehockeynews that he expect another lockout at the end of the CBA. Here's what deputy commissioner Bill Daly told me about Don Fehr prediction. "Its a fairly naive and uneducated view of the situation...
...particularly as it relates to this League's collective bargaining history and the reasons why we have have endured work stoppages...
...in the past. Don's musings are also entirely inconsistent with his own collective bargaining history,...
... which is highlighted by his own precipitation of repeated work stoppages and unprecedented labor strife in a "uncapped" sports league."

I wish both sides would get some new people involved. Same pig headedness always shines through from both parties.

Like the NHL had a glorious labour relations history before Fehr arrived on the scene.

Head shot for sure only because Gionta is a midget sorry little person. Great hockey play and vision by Bart. Intent to put on a massive hit yes. Intent to head shot no.

Then NHL really has to figure out where it stands when something is intentional or not when it comes to hits to the head. I like hitting, but the more I see hits to the head and the after effects, not sure if intentions should have as big of a factor in punishment or not. But would hate to see guys going around with their heads down and players afraid to hit them...

We are still some years away and it is starting already.

I haven't seen everything Fehr said, but it seemed like Daly went right to attack mode. The greed will never end.

No Ryan Miller at Nux morning skate so looks like he's the starter tonight. He didn't skate Saturday morning either. #Canucks

Optional skate. Hansen is out there, plus Lack, Sbisa, Weber, Vey, Kassian, Burr, Matthias, Sestito, Horvat & Biega.

With the Sedins having three years left on their deals and the chances of them retiring here at 100%, I think there's time to draft and develop some kids. If they get rid of Higgins Burrows Bieksa and let Vrbata walk after next year while plugging in some kids that we've already drafted, we'll probably pick top 10 for a few years.

Lets show the Oilers how to do it the right way

I know, I lived there for 40 years. Just trying to determine Miller's psyche for tonight.

It is not necessarily his psyche, but the impact of humidity on the puck and how it slides along the ice. Also taking into consideration the temperature outside and inside the Rog along with the usual ventilation and direction of air flow in that building.

err.. no you are right, it is his psyche.

What a diff between him and Lack.

Dear Brian Gionta,

How's the head feeling...? Also, go (frank) yourself.

Hi!

New blog is up. Hansen's back and Miller will probably start after taking the morning off. Very important two points on the line!

Our first line prior to the Sedins development.

Naslund, underachieving prospect that was never really given a chance

Bertuzzi, power forward that was given up on too early.

Morrison, diminutive 2-way forward that was easily the least talented player on the line.

We could have all those pieces in our system right now, it's not likely but possible. We preach draft and development but want to trade or give up on anyone that's not a star by the age of 25.

A very good point.
