I think so too.Like I said I like the guy , best hitter on the team

It's his decision making that's the problem. As you said, he can definitely rough it up but his hockey IQ (at this point) is not the greatest. However, with some work he does have some potential and could move up in the line up if everything pans out.

When we first got him, I assumed he was making 1.5 million per... MAX!

I was wrong

After seeing Edler's transformation this season I think it would be silly to dump him as he definitely has a shot at being better than a bottom pairing guy
Edit: and keep in mind we don't have any D prospects in the pipeline drafted in the first two rounds

Sbisa is OK. They need his physical play. A couple of times a game you see someone slowly getting up after a big hit by him. If we were in the playoffs, I can see him wearing down forwards... knocking players out of series etc...

My rule is, if you have to let someone go who has something the team needs, then there better be someone coming in who can replace the need equally or better. If they don't resign him, better be signing/trading for a physical D then.

Yeah, he had 2 great hits against the Flames and was caught casing on the tying goal. He's definitely a mixed bag. Worth working on, but he may be a Jan Bulis type who will never put it together.

I wish that Gillis had that same philosophy.

FYI I'll have to re-look into the Fosco trades stuff after something concerning was brought to my attention. I may have no choice but to reverse the trades and (sadly)remove him. Will make a post when I get home in league message board.

I know we need them, I just think that they struggle against boring teams and don't do well with so much rest between games.

I noticed there was quite a bit of high school drama yesterday! Has eveyone been to the healing circle?

I think it's all been sorted and I hope that's the last of it as I'd rather talk hockey on the board.

We need the Sedins and that second line to do something tonight or I'm getting on the Vantel train to ride their asses outta town!!

Hard to argue with any of that Vantel, he speaks the truth. I'm hopeful the TDL is pretty active on the Canuck front.

I was as surprised as any one with the fast start, I think we are now settling into reality. Vantel is not wrong that the Sedins have slowed, it's just that there is no way in hell this organization will trade them. We need to develope a new 1st line in the next season or two and add one or two scoring wingers to Bonino's line. Then we need a quaterback defensemen for the power play and a rugged, stay-at-home defensemen to clear the front of the net.

Too much of everything goes through the Sedins . If you are going to keep them full term ,then JB needs to make a new first line. Sedins would be a productive second line with lessened duties.

Finding a first line in the next year or two is almost impossible, but as AV once told Kesler in his young career when he had a chance to score and the Dman had his stick wedged against the post , he told Kesler "you have to find a way to do it , don't give me excuses"

Canucks have movable pieces and cap space this year , do what you need to do to win.
