risto 4 pp points
myers 2 pp points

Hate to sound like I'm just blindly defending Myers, but 2 of Risto's goals have been pure luck.

One last night he fanned on the shot, was going wide and hit a skate.

Myers isn't getting the "bounces"

From Bruins Blog:

As for the hit itself, it was a clear as day interference. Bartkowski’s arm does ‘chicken wing’ as they call it, which doesn’t help how it looks. And Gionta was injured on the play. Personally, I hated the hit. It looked like the Pittsburgh, Penn. native was going for a shoulder-to-shoulder hit, sure, but Bartkowski catches Gionta in a horrible position (what a terrible pass, by the way) and he doesn’t let up. He clocks him right in the head (Gionta's 5-foot-7 stature should be pretty irrelevant in this entire discussion as Bartkowski, or any player for that matter, should undoubtedly be aware of that), and it was just an all-around ugly hit. It’s a hit that’s OK a decade ago, no doubt, but one that’s a major no-no in 2014. Bartkowski, playing in his 100th game at the NHL level should know that, too.

I still think they got it right on the ice. I wouldn't have suspended either.

If they are going to suspend that guy, for that hit, they should just say that the penalty for hitting another player in the head, intentionally or otherwise, starts with a ___ game suspension.

Because as ugly as the hit was, I don't think anybody can say it was malicious. It may have been avoidable, but at the speed of the game, it's understandable how it happened.

So if we're going to suspend for even understandable hits to the head, I would say the rules need to change to say so.

The roster was just young overall last night. Moulson and Kaleta didn't travel with the team due to the flu. Gionta and Foligno both left with injuries.

Schaller and Deslauriers seemed to really just be going all out. Pysyk had a solid game, just like he usually does.

Going into the game the average age of the team was under 26 they said, and then take Gionta out of the mix pretty early. Very young roster last night when all was said and done.

Which one is more appropriate for a pontificator?

That seemed to be in question yesterday.

I think if we are banking on them being a top pairing anytime soon we are in for a rude awakening.

Myers/Gorges has allowed them to be very sheltered. Which they should be, they are 19.

I just worry that we are gonna make the same mistake with them as we did with Myers, take a small sample size, and anoint them the next Keith/Seabrook which I have heard over and over.

Had some nice plays, but didn't cash anything. Lined with Hodge and Stew. With the right mates, he looks ready.

Oh I know, I usually mean the media when I say things like that.

I love Risto/Zads by the way. I do think both of them could be really good/great

You just never see defensemen at age 20-21 especially two of them lead a blue line anywhere.
