You can, however, expect the better team to make the bigger play when they absolutely need it. It's not an indictment on the defense so much as it is on the team/franchise itself. Despite all that went wrong today, they had a chance to put themselves in a position to win. That's a game that a good team finds a way to win, period.

Both Manuel and Orton had their infuriating amount of checkdowns this year, but I'm convinced many of them were designed with the way the blocking schemes were set up, and the lack of dynamic routes the rest of the receiving corps ran.
