Why Buffalo will not win a Stanley Cup:

We'd need some brass balls to be overproud this year.

They need him if the price is right

People poo poo the thought of sending Myers out there for Hall, what if it's a bigger trade?

Schultz (run pp) and Hall for Myers, Coho, Foligno, a goalie, Pysyk and later first

The Sabres need first line players, 2 and as long as they are playing well it looks like they may not get that big name at the draft

Move enroth in the trade and they are back on tank mode, and this move would make them so much better moving forward

just thinking outside the box a bit

- homiedclown

Make it Klefbom instead of Shultz, and remove the first, and I would sign the papers.

EJ Hradek on NHL Live the other day said he's heard from several execs around the league that they don't want the Oilers to be allowed to draft McDavid or Eichel and I even saw one of the Oilers bloggers on here express more or less the same sentiment. I doubt it will happen, primarily because I don't think Bettman has the stones to do it, but still it's interesting to see that people around the league are getting a little fed up with what's been going on in Edmonton for pretty much an entire decade.

i dont know if i want bettman helping things along. things probably arent gonna break our way either if thats the case, i swear when dallas beat buffalo in the cup i thought i saw bettman mouth the words "we won!". if another sun belt team that needs a bump in attendance happens to win the lottery (arizona, im looking your way)...

People seem to forget that Edmonton was still battling for a playoff spot for several years after they made the finals. They didn't start rebuilding until smyth was traded and tambellini was a (frank)tard with his moves. Klowe and Tambellini is to blame for what this organization has become. It will take time before we see what mact has to show.

We have Ennis that might flourish. But Ennis said he likes the wing better during his last interview.
McCormick ?

So Strachan is probably playing #7?....just out for practice?
I guess it depends on what they want. I wouldn't call up Grigo and put him on the 4th.
So, if they call up Grigo, I would shift lines around.
Otherwise, find a defensive minded checker to fill that spot on the 4th....Shaller again?

interesting news

16. It’s common knowledge Buffalo has two UFA goalies-to-be — Jhonas Enroth and Michal Neuvirth — but there is a the possibility of a third. Matt Hackett, who had reconstructive knee surgery last May, needs eight performances of at least 30 minutes or he will be a Group VI free agent, allowed to sign anywhere.

He’s played 21 NHL games, three of which don’t count, because they were under the 30-minute threshold. Hackett will be 25 in March, and as a five-year pro of that age and an expiring contract, the Sabres must get him to 26 official appearances to change his status to restricted. He is practising now

Yeah well I'd like to buy a bottle of Redbreast Irish Whiskey for $20, but when I go to the store and make that offer they say "it isn't enough."

Don't know that I put a great deal of value on him at this point. He just isn't on my list of priorities.

It was Monty Hall who hosted "Let's Make a Deal" not Bob Barker. Either way, good read!

"Pysyk, Hodgson and the Sabres mid or lowest first round pick this year might be something that could benefit both teams"

I love your articles but that proposal is absurd. At the very least we would have to include Myers, Risto or Zads.

That line of thinking is similar to what 89 originally proposed.

Losing Myers now and Enroth would mean good luck to the team winning many games, so it could turn into Hall and a top 2 pick.
