Why would the Leafs pursue O'Rielly then?

Yes im guessing you dont watch many games but kadri has been a very very good 2c shutting down other teams top players and he has learned to back check and now also putting up the points while being good in his own end all for far less then 6mil. Plus i dont see why the Avs would trade a c/winger for another center. They need D.

As mentioned in my comments he has been far better 2 way this year in faceoffs and possession i would not trade kadri for O Rielly at all.

ROR is still playing well if he isnt producing as many points he as last year. Still near to top of the league in Take aways, doesnt take Penalties, the teams CF% 5v5 with him on the ice is so much better compared when he is not. (they would be in a world of hurt if the lost him)

He has some really bad puck luck, his shooting percentage is terribly low, above the normal for him, so eventually it will bounce back.

I watch a lot of Leaf Games, we are forced to most nights if you live out West and there are regional black out for some games. Sportsnet is the worst. Kadri is having a really nice season, but he still takes a lot of careless penalties, hes gritty and that goes with the territory

Does he get back spasms to the point that he has to be essentially carried off the ice and physically taken out of his gear in the locker room? That seems like it would be one hell of a back spasm.

yup does all the little things really well and defensively responsible even if he isnt scoring. So you are still getting value out him on the other side of the puck

Well look at kadri faceoffs and possession and who is facing every game. He is shutting down top lines like getzlaf. Kadri draws more peniltys then anyway which is very valuable. So bassed on what we are both saying the trade would be doing very little to either team plus we dont want a 6 mil dollar contract it wont fit. Kadri is a RFA so we will get him at around 5mil.

I would still take Kadri on my team, I like the guy, but I think ROR is the more established player, if he didnt have that contract mess he would have so much more value attached to him.

and he's a year younger.... which is a bit surprising. Seems like he's been in the NHL for a lot longer than Kadri
