This really is unbelievable. Unfathomable, unconscionable. I'm sure there will be one person to defend it! Get the pom poms out!

There are only 2 reasons for that ice time distribution

1) Hamburglar has " something" on the coaching staff or management
2) It is a subtle way of being in " tank mode"

I was thinking maybe Berube was trying to send a message to Hextall... Saying you dropped this bum in my lap, watch this. Not sure that's it because the word is Berube was the one who wanted Hartnell out. Who knows what is going on, but it's a complete poopshow.

Yep, it cost us 35.00 bucks for 2 beers and another 30.00 for 2 roast beef sandwiches.
Not too mention another 25 bucks to park

Geez. That is highway robbery. The Toronto market loves hockey, they can charge those prices. It's all about supply and demand.

I disagree on that overall. I agree that the decision to pick Lecavalier first, as he was struggling with the puck all game, was not the right choice. There were how many shooters in the shootout? The Flyers had a couple of chances to win the game. How many choices does this coach have to choose from that have scored even at a decent percentage in the shootout other then Giroux? The shootout is on the players, not the coach.
- MJL

Giroux, Jake, Schenn, Couturier, Raffl, Laughton,Simmonds, Read

I would take all those guys over Vinny last night

Now if Vinny was playing a regular shift with two other reasonable players and wasn't coming off a 7 game benching... I would throw him in sooner.

Well they better be a little more tactful about it, if that's the plan. Because they aren't fully committed to the plan. They're still just "bad enough" to be middle of he pack. They better start throwing in VLC more, split up Jake and G.. what's the league going to say?? This team sucks... just claim "we're trying different things to get the team going"... Prove them liars...

I'd like to think it's moreso just people heading the organization not knowing wtf they're doing... right now, mainly Berube.

Nah... It makes perfect sense to have VL shoot first. He's been a scratch 7 games in a row, playing 4th line minutes. Ba-Ba-Roobey threw him out there!

Yes it is, those idiots will continue to pay whatever the cost may be. A Leaf game has cost me 550.00-600.00 pucks for two of us to go...( tickets, food, beer, parking)

That is nuts. $500+ to go to a regular season hockey game. My season tickets for football only cost $1250 per ticket. There are only 8 games, every game is enormous.

Berube played the Couturier line a lot last night at ES, and Umberger is just a part of that. I guess Berube lost the game because of it. Had zero to do with the lousy first period, or the lack of urgency all game equal to what they showed in OT, the lousy puck management and execution with the puck, or the continued futility at the shootout. None of that cost them the win.
- MJL

Not sure if your agreeing with me or not.

Also just say they scratch Umberger. Then there is a ripple effect. That means Vinny or Rinaldo or VDV will be on that wing. Unless you move Schenn or Simmonds or Raffl to that line. But doing that then means yor moving Vinny or VDV or Rinaldo to either Laughton or Giroux's line.

The whole problems is just a wrong mix in my opinion. When Raffl is relied on tobe a top 6 forward I think you know the mix is wrong. Ideally you would love to have Schenn, Couturier, Grioux, Voracek and maybe Simmonds as your top 6. Then you have Laughton, PEB, Rinaldo, White, Read as your roll playing bottom 6. Then you fill in from there.

I just think until some people are moved to create a better fit your not going to see a really consistant team.

Where Snider is wrong is, this team isn't the same as last year. They lived and died on excellent special teams. They miss Hartnell's PP scoring and Timonen's stellar PK work, badly. The PK going from top 3 to bottom 3 is probably the single biggest reason they're not in the wild card mix.
- Jsaquella

They don't miss Hartnell on the PP at all. The top unit is just as good or not better with BSchenn on it and the Flyers are 5th in the league at 24%. Last season they were 8th at 19.7%.

well when you have 6 centers for 4 lines they run into a problem....just poor roster managment

Didn't get to watch any of the game until a couple minutes left in OT. It's almost comical how the Flyers lose shootouts so often.

i agree the PP is better with out him on the top line but would rather have him on the 2nd unit instead of Umburger or over Umberger at even strength even if hartnell was on the 3rd line

Flyers basically have to go 4-1-1 or better for the rest of the month to even have a shot at the playoffs. When the trade freeze ends in a week or so, Hextall may well be in sell mode
- Jsaquella

I hope so. I care 1000x more about the future than I do the present because the present is purgatory.

Yeah I think we are going to watch the Flyers ( Jan) in Buffalo. You can get a hotel for the night and still be cheaper than going to a game in Toronto.

It only takes me an hour and a half to get to Buffalo but it is worth it. Just get hammered ( take advantage of beer prices) then crash in hotel

Toronto is more expensive than NYC I think. Should be an interesting tilt Saturday evening. HNIC. Leafs have been playing very well, had an awful loss last night though.

Not sure they will tank again this year. They look good from the games I've seen. It would be funny to see it happen again though.
