I'm not knocking Hall at all.

But Hamilton is very arguably a 1st pairing D-man, not sure how you can label Subban "nothing more than a backup" at 20, and as much as I like Hall, I don't think "only scratching the surface of his potential" is an accurate description. Could he still get better? Of course, but he's not exactly underachieving, and in my opinion I don't see him putting up another 20-25 goals and 40+ pts on top of what he already brings (which is extremely impressive as it is).

That's a whole lot of IFs to me. Let's go with facts; as of now, Hamilton is a 2nd pairing D. Could he become a top pairing? Of course, but it's not a sure shot. As a goalie coach i can tell you why Malcom Subban will never be a starter: he isn't strong enough mentally, he is athletic but he isn't technically sound, his lateral movements are pretty weak for such a strong guy. As for the prospect, we can all agree that Boston's pool isn't as deep as it used to be. Pastrnak maybe. As for the pick, they will draft in the 20-24th area so yeah to me it's a late first rounder.

AS for Hall, fact is he already is close to a PPG (0,9) at 22 on a mediocre hockey team. He is 4 years away from entering is prime so yes, by all accounts he is stiill scratching the surface. Notching 80 pts at 21, you are a special hockey player.

No offense, but when i make a business deal, i don't want to put any IF in the equation.

Crosby and Letang are too injury prone. Throw in another pick or its too much of a risk for a rebuilding team.

Yeah, but are you a good goalie coach? There are plenty of coaches out there that don't know poop from wild honey.how do we know you're not one of them?
