Not a good penalty for Giroux to take

Need to have team toughness. It is an issue, at least to some extent, because there's games where they are more physical than others
- Jsaquella

They sure don't show it much.

I'm not talking about fighting or scrums after the whistle. I'm talking about winning board battles in all zones, clearing the front of our net and , other than Simmonds, getting to the front of the opponents net. Also would like to see some more emotion and teammates standing up for each other too.

But most of all, win a 1 on 1 battle for chrissakes!

Why do people think players can't be hit from behind if they have possession of the puck? It's not an automatic call. Hitting a player from behind in a prone defenseless position or against the boards is a penalty. Florida players are really good at the hack/slash but not take a penalty defensive crap.

See, I don't think Raffl is soft, and I think Giroux and Voracek are pretty tough for elite, skilled players

Simmonds is a tough SOB, and so is Rinaldo, though the skill isn't there for the latter

But yeah, the Flyers would look a lot different if Couturier was as nasty as a young Keith Primeau and if Vinny and Umberger committed to using their size to lean on people

That's been an issue, but there have been games where they have won those battles. Not enough of them, though.

Rinaldo and Simmonds are tough but can often times be pushed off the puck relatively easily.

It seems the Flyers want me to have an aneurysm because that's now twice where the puck should have been deposited into the net, but was instead deposited into the end boards

Hartnell, Lupul and Upshall all wore 19 the past number of seasons prior to this one.

Agreed, especially for a young player. Curious to see what he becomes when he develops "man strength"

Both weigh under 185lbs. There is a legit lack of size up front. VLC is their biggest forward and is soft as can be. There only other reg forwards over 200 are Umberger, Jake and Couturier. None of them play physical either.

A guy like Lucic may be a Richard, but the Flyers could badly use a guy like that up front
