This is ridiculous, we'll be the first team to be taken down one by one from mumps, can't even call up players without the chance they have it as well, I say stop the league for two weeks and isolate everyone

Former #Blackhawks winger Ben Eager, who had been in KHL, signs with AHL Chicago Wolves. Will practice tomorrow and can play this weekend.

Players starting to leave the KHL.

I find this post so aggravating, this is another blogger who has blocked me:

http://blueseatblogs.com/...igatory-taylor-hall-post/

it would be "nice to dump Girardi" and not that I wouldn't want Taylor Hall, but doesn't the fact that Hall having a good Corsi prove once and for all that Corsi is a stat that means total crap?

the Oilers are 7-19-6. WHO THE HELL CARES IF A PLAYER HAS GOOD CORSI

I seriously just dont get this whole mumps outbreak thing... this isn't a 3rd world country, we have vaccines... i blame hippies and morons who think vaccines cause other issues
- MeltingPlastic

I think the duration of the MMR vaccine is 10 years. Who knows if some of the international players even got vaccinated to begin with. I say the NHL calls in the hazardous clean up teams and spray down every locker room with lysol. this is getting ridiculous.

It may be a bit of cross check, but that's it. It's from the side. It's not late, in the numbers or to the head. So looks clean to me.

Esp since the only reason he gets hit like that is because he is staring at his pass

He can only return if he either:
A) has unanimous approval from ALL 30 owners in the league to let him back in
B) sits out 1 full year unsigned from professional hockey; in this case, the Devils are the only team that have to approve his return
C) he can freely sign with any team at the age of 35 (4 more years).

I think the issue with that hit is that he hit a vulnerable and defenseless player more excessively than what was required. Is that illegal or suspendable? No idea.

Edit: Just watched the replay in that video that shows a better angle...looks like a clean hit to me.

Lamierello has found ways to change the rules and make little side deals before, better not happen this time

Agreed. At the same time, I think Kovy is one of the best players in the world and if he's playing in the NHL, the NHL is a better league. I wouldn't mind Kovy back in the NHL at all...just not on the Devils.

I thought it was 4 years total AFTER retiring from the NHL, meaning he's eligible in 2 more seasons.

Kovalchuk should be a UFA eligible to sign a new contract with anyone if he comes back, including the Icelanders

But he should not be Devils property under that old contract still.

if Kovalchuk does decide to come back, why not just have him clear waivers rather than have him choose his team like the NHL did with Nabakov that one year?

I think there are special rules for players that officially retire as opposed to those that can't get a deal in the NHL and then go overseas and decide to come back mid-season. Makes sense...imagine all the players that would retire just to get out of their contract and then 2 weeks later sign with another team.
