Would you do this trade ?
To Mtl : Eberle Nurse Scrivens 1 st overall
To Edm : Subbban Tinordi Tokarski Galyenchuck - VANTEL
That's not too bad actually. I don't give much value to the goalies.
So it's...
McDavid, Eberle, Nurse
for
Subban, Galchenyuk, Tinordi

Lots of people in here missing Garrison right now. Don't remember which of us wasn't a fan of that deal...

Wow.
That decimates MTL's backend ... but for McDavid... It might be a little too expensive, but if the 1st was guaranteed. |

Only issue was that he, Edler and Hamhuis were all lefties. They needed a RHD Garrison-caliber d-man. |

That's basically how I saw it.
McDavid>>Galchenyuk
Subban>>>Eberle
Nurse>Tinordi
Value seems to be pretty fair |

Linden on the TSN-1040 this morning.
He spoke about the goal for the new year is for greater output from their prospects.
Said he liked that Mccan and Virtanen have started to heat up, and thinks they are finally healthy from their different illnesses.
Said they expect more production in the AHL from Shinkaruk and Gaunce.
9 points and 10 points respectively in 27 games is not good enough. - classic321
Looking toward the future and having a goal like that is great its nice to see a him doing his job and letting Benning and Desjardins do theirs. |

Didnt like his mobility, Didnt like the fact that his slapshot couldnt hit the broad side of a barn.
But he would look alot better than weber, stanton, Biega etc. |

I think both GM's would pass on that one, but maybe I'm wrong. The value isn't horrible though. |

Creative. I guess it would have to be an off season move if it is McDavid.
I look at Subban and think Norris Trophy and then McDavid- potential generational...
good proposal. |

He was arguably our steadiest D-man during the lockout season. Just seemed unfair that he had one "off" year (wasn't even the worst d-man last year) yet several players had struggled for multiple seasons and are only now getting some criticism |

Boychuck or Franson - VANTEL
Still don't trust Franson defensively, he's been really good this year but I'f I'm paying a d-man 5M+ long-term I'd want to see more than 1 year of a solid defensive play.
I do like Boychuck, I knew we discussed a trade for him during the summer and I thought he would have been a decent fit here. If he makes it to UFA, I hope Benning makes an offer. |

EVERYONE had a bad year last year.
Except for Santorelli, Who apperently has picked up in Toronto where he left off here. |

Garrison publicly came out and told the story of how he was asked to waive his ntc, maybe he wasn't the only one who was asked.
Still would like to know what those exit interviews were like last season. |

Santorelli would definitely be a huge upgrade on Richie as 3LC though. Hindsight is 20/20, but damn that one hurts. |
