I'd say the Hayes + Olsen for Versteeg thing is working out pretty well this year and time will tell on Pokka for Leddy. I don't see RFD games but have heard he's looked pretty good there and even if Pokka winds up a decent third pairing guy with 2nd pair upside, isn't that what the book on Leddy was anyway? - HawkintheD
Beat me to it. If you look at it in total, the Hawks traded;
Kent Simpson
Olsen
Pirri
Hayes
Morin
Leddy
They got back;
Versteeg (and I'll assume this years versteeg)
Iacopelli (believe that who they drafted)
2016 5th round pick
Tim Erixon
TJ Brennan
Ville Pokka
Anders Nilsson
Not sure that's really all that bad. I guess Al's argument is that Leddy could have been traded at the draft and gotten the Hawks a better deal, and I probably agree with that point. But I think I can argue on the rest of the deals, Stan has gotten the better of the deals. Especially if you consider those guys were never going to play for the hawks. Could you have gotten more for them if they were traded a year earlier, not so sure. |

Being a USAir guy, that's now being forced to become an AA guy, doesn't make me happy. One benefit is now I'll now know what you guys are talking about all the time. - vabeachbear

Who the hell is Envoy Air? Sounds like that outfit operated by KLM (Precision Air?) I flew from Nairobi to Kilimanjaro a couple of years ago. Basically a school bus with wings.
EDIT: I think it might have been one of these. To call the cabin "spartan" would be a gross understatement:

Man, I love AA. I am a UA Gold for life but no way with Millions of 1K's can I ever get a upgrade. With AA, I'm Platinum and get upgraded all the time. I love AA |

I always flew United and when I started a new job, they ONLY flew AA. Boy was I pissed. Fast forward many years and I will only fly AA.
I can walk up to the gate and if they have a seat open an hour before the flight, they'll put you in the seat vs. charging you $75.00 to upgrade.
I pay $10.00 anytime I want to board in Group 1 - United is $50.00.
And the service, overall, is just better. |

Envoy Air is the company previously known as American Eagle. Your picture is an ATR turbo-prop. I have many, many hours bumping around the Carribean in those workhorses. I love that airplane. It will carry anything you can fit inside it, and get in and out of some very tight runways.

I'm EP with AA and also log lots of miles with Int'l carriers and while I'm very happy with the AA pilots, and Boeing aircraft in general, AA cabins are among the stinkiest and filthiest I've ever seen and their cabin service is subpar. I have about 1m miles with delta too and I actually liked their service but haven't used them regularly in years. |

I have flown US Air quite a bit to Charlotte NC, and the flights are always Airbus 321, not Boeing jets. |

AA had an exclusivity agreement with Boeing, but it went away with bankruptcy. U.S. Air has been a big Airbus operator for years. The combined fleet will have lots of both. |

Will US Air stay a company name, or will it eventually all by AA, like United did with Continental? |

Wow I did not know that. They always announce at the beginning and end of flights "Thank you for flying US AIR, part of the new American Airlines".
Wasn't there an Allegheny Airlines years ago? |

The new company is called AA, but it's being run by the old US Air management group, about whom I have no comment |

Will be interesting to see how Craw responds getting the net back this evening.
Also will be looking to see how Morin plays as well. Caught some of the game with the Jackets and the Caps the other evening...Columbus had won 7 in row before losing in OT. |

Hear lots of people say things, gotta say, I can't complain at all. Upgrades, very rarely do I not get upgraded.
128 segments this year, and bet I was upgraded on minimum of 110. Including the most important ones over and back CLT-FRA Usually making reservations no more than 7 days in advance.
I think if you fly a lot, stay on one airline, you get treated pretty good.
Sorry bout the diversions now back to hockey...Lets go Hawks! Good to see both Crow and Duncs back. |
