You missed Al's point, which IMO, was that Bollig was the only one-trick pony from Rockford, that had made any impact. The Rockford grads that are still with the team, play more of the all-around game that Q expects. - Acur81
The analysis is flawed for at least two reasons.
The 2011 draft debunks the premise.
Secondly, the notion that StanBo is not developing enough Blackhawk players is totally bogus because the Blackhawk roster has been very good and stable for years. There is little room for new players. That's why prospects have been shipped off. |

Im still waiting for rockford to produce anyone in a top 6 forward or top 4 d spot since Hjalmarsson
Ive never been a Ted Dent fan and at times he runs a system that is undisciplined in Rockford
Rockford is not bad at producing third pairing dmen or bottom 6 role guys but where they really need to take the next step is turning guys like McNeil and TT into top 6 NHL players, or Johns/Dahlbeck/Clendening into top 4 dmen
where this teams organization depth will get tested is in the upcoming second "re-tool" in the past 5 years when we lose guys like Sharp/Seabrook/Bickell/Oduya whoever gets moved
We clearly didnt have anyone in the system that they trusted in a top 4 D spot so they traded for Oduya after the last shed. They clearly didnt have anyone in the system from Rockford that they trusted in a top 6 spot which is why they re-upped Handzus and Saad was promoted basically out of Jrs to the NHL after only 30 games in the AHL

It also looks that he has found 1 top 6 replacement in Saad. TT and McNeil could be top 6 or 9. Schmaltz is also looking solid as well.
TWT on all of these as well as whether playing Rundblad over Klas drives Klas/Clendening out and/or stifles their development. Klas probably doesn't carry the attitude that Morin, Hayes and Pirri had... TT looks like he might. |

This. Drafting 18 year old hockey players is as dicey, if not more so, than drafting 18 year old baseball players. Excellent developmental staff is imperative, to get the most out of that crapshoot, and even that is no guarantee. The 'Hawks were somewhat lucky with Saad, and Shaw, in that they didn't spend a lot of time in the A, yet were talented enough to make it with the big club. I don't know enough about Dent, and crew, to say whether they're good, or not, but I suspect that they could be better. Not that they could've made better all-around players out of Pirri, Morin, Hayes, etc., anyway. |

Seriously, why are u on here proposing that we completely reshuffle our bottom 6 forwards, complaining about our prospect development, etc? I just dont get it...Whats good enough for you? |

Someone let me know when one of these vaunted prospects that has been moved actually does something noteworthy. |

For an undisciplined system, he sure has turned out some very disciplined players: Ben Smith, Kruger, Nordstrom, Hjalmarsson...and players still yet to be proven, yet seemed pretty disciplined when they were brought up like Danault and Dahlbeck...

A little unfair of a criticism when you consider you had guys like Toews and Kane jump right over the AHL. You signed Hossa as a FA, and traded for Sharp. Saad played some as well, but also kind of jumped over.
Not much room for top 6 forwards in the above scenarios, on any team in the league.
Also, when you get a top 6 younger guy, chances are he's going to take up one of those spots for at least a decade.
On the D side, you mention Hammer, you have Keith and Seabrook, not many top 4 spots available here either.
Again, I think it tough to criticize on this point. |

I read this article a couple of days ago. I wonder if that is related to Eager coming back to play in the A?

Radulov is also on that team, we could certainly find a place for him if he wanted to play on a year end rental deal.

Yeah. I wouldn't want to see Radulov in a Hawks sweater. Not now, not ever.
However, it would be pretty entertaining if Radulov ended up playing with Ovechkin. Could you imagine the soap opera that would be?

I guess. I generally try to avoid mule meat. Though it most likely is tender from all the beatings. |
