Bickell anywhere on this Hawk team === waste!!!!!

this a WIN NOW team....hell they caught an amazing gift surprise with the kid dman TVR who earned top 6 playing team as a young prospect...
believe me next year will have plenty opportunity to watch players "develop" once the 3-5 guys are gone next year per 2010 salary dump pourge Ver2 - bogiedoc
I agree with you this is "A Win Now Team". We will be forced to sell three players and probably say good by to a couple others. I think we will have three rookies from Rockford on next years team. McNeil, Danault, TT and three Swedes will be fighting for probably three spots. Our team will be considered young again like in 2010. |

I strongly agree with you. However , nobody in their right mind will take him for 2 more years at 4 million. Besides, Stan will not trade him because he might wake up just in time at the start of the plaoffs. Gone for sure after this season. |

although next year will take care of itself...mees thk you are pretty close
on the cap casulty bubble are: #'s 10, 7, 27, 29 while 91 and 32 are gone
so 4-6 new faces next year are assured
Saad is a huge wild card...he on pace for 50-60 pt season...and ahem bickel is on pace for another sterling 20 point season @ 4 mil per. Do the math folks as I am sure Saad's agent is.
Bickel is unaffordable as 4 mil 4th line kinda guy... |

If 7 is on the bubble with the season he's having, then Stan should just quit and go home.
Seabs stays. Period.

what he said. They will move other pieces before they move Seabrook. Top pairing Dmen are hard to find. |

I completely agree with you...he is having a great season. But one or 2 of those 5-6 mil a year guys is going.
moving sharp and bickes only gets you to caught up to T and K contracts next year....
if that cap does not go up...my gawd this team T & K plus the Ice hogs |

If the puck is in the crease before the player, a player has a right to it just as much as the goalie. That would have been a tough sell!, or a homer call! - powerenforcer
Krueger had no stick so he had no legal way to score so I'm not sure he had a right to divebomb the crease like he did. I wouldn't doubt the league studies that play further. Not that they would take the goal away. |

I tend to think they are going to have a problem with him diving skates first into a crowded area. And he had no stick at the time. I don't think that's the end of it. I don't see any penalty coming, but it might result in a new rule eventually. |

Meh. No reason to make a rule about something that neither of us have ever seen with over a combined 100 years or more of watching the game.

Another gimmick ending to a sluggish game. PP everything on the perimeter as usual. Really thought the Hawks weren't involved in this one tonight. A December game in Columbus...
Home against the Leafs this evening. Hopefully we see a better showing. |

Exactly! Thankfully, giving up on hockey now will give us more time to plan the Cubs' World Series victory party. |

There was a point in time I thought Seabs may be expendable like Sharp - not anymore. I don't think you can find an available d man any time soon that can replace what he gives this team. They need to keep him any way they can.
However, I can still see Seabs leaving if he and his agent look for a contract significantly higher than $8m. If Johny Boychuck hits the UFA market this OS and gets $8m or more in a flat cap environment then what could Seabrook ask? His agent could easily point out Seabs would be a number 1 defenseman on 3/4 of the league's teams (if not more). Will they be satisfied with the highest paid d man on the Hawks (which he will be) but possibly less than a player like Boychuck? What if he wants Subban money ($9m)? If he does (and they cannot pay him what he wants) then they CANNOT let him go UFA. They have to trade him for a HUGE package including a high first rounder or prospect to partially replace what they are losing.
Hopefully, Seabs goes for term and staying with a contender over the bigger pay day free agency would bring. |

That makes little sense - Sharp and Bickell are paid 9.9 million a year combined - the increases for Toews and Kane is 8.4 million - that will be a + 1.5 million - that is addition by subtraction in my book!!!!! |

You don't net $9.9MM by dumping Sharp and Bickell - you have to replace them on the roster.
So as Bogie implied: how do you pay for Saad and Kruger if the cap doesn't go up? |
