Joke. - ArlingtonRob
It was a joke to allow Bickell to shoot last on the shoot out. Smith or Krueger would have been a much better choice IMO.
The Hawks had only them selves to blame for the loss because of the brutal power plays. Nobody wanted to go to the tough area by the goal. Hossa and Richards should be scrapped and replace them with Smith and Krueger. |

Let the BJ's celebrate like they won the cup...it's all they'll get this year.
Next up...the "off again" Maple Leafs". |

Kreuger never kicked at it, so even if the puck went in it was not with a kicking motion. Good Goal anyway! - powerenforcer
Could have been ruled goaltender interference. Bob had no way to get to it because of Krueger . |

I'd have preferred Seabs, but Bicks has a nice shot so why not. I'm not about to blame Q for his choice of shooter at that point. If T&K failed it wasn't meant to be... |

That was my thought when the play occurred. What was Kruger thinkin' anyhow...he just slid into the crease? That was a strange sequence. |

If the puck is in the crease before the player, a player has a right to it just as much as the goalie. That would have been a tough sell!, or a homer call! |

Shootouts are crapshoots to a large degree. Shooting second the Hawks had about 5 chances to end it...but couldn't. When T & K fail the odds of victory drop significantly. - ArlingtonRob
and speaking of the same shoot out move....hossa 15 ft slap shot...maybe once I saw actually do something different...
hand it to the BJ's some how they are 8-1-1 over the last 10..
6 of their last 7 have gone to OT or shoot outs and they won 6 of them!! |

Their zone entry was good...so we got that. Otherwise, it was keep-a-way and lookin' for the perfect play.
Added up to a loser point.
Man I loathe the shootout. |

Kruger sliding into the crease was still an odd thing to do...I can't say I've ever seen that one before. It was amazing that Kruger didn't carry that puck into the net. |

When it occurred in real-time I thought like the ref...no goal. Then the replay revealed one truly strange play.
In light of that, I'll take the point...Hawks were kinda fortunate Kruger didn't carry the puck into the net. |

Bickel shooting was a joke. Same with Hossa and Richards.
Another observation - Bob was giving up some juicy rebounds. No such luck today. |

Well when you reach the 8th and 9th shooter whatcha gonna do...
Hossa and Johnson were about equal percentage wise...Johnson won it. |

Ya, only a few choices left - i still would like to see Smith and Kruger - both are smart players with good hands.
But the other thing we need - the pp has to start clicking. Something is not quite right there. |

The PP got progressively worse tonight. First one looked good, several shots, near misses, good movement...
...it was downhill from there. 2 PP opportunities late, both did little. Then in OT the Hawks had numerous chances...
...oh well. |

Shaw isn't on the first unit. He needs to get back there. Think Q is making him earn his way back. |

hwks have been playing outstanding hockey since losing to the wings 4-1 they are 13-2-1 with 12 of those 16 on the road. They owned the CBJ's tonight for most of that game and Bobro stood in the way.
My guess is they take care of so-so leaf team tomorrow!! |

:"they"? They had nothing to do with it. Unless "they" is BOB. Then I agree. |

Chris Bloc had a well researched piece in the Committed Indian with a fair amount of supporting facts about Morin and Stan not showing significant results with his drafts yet. Made a strng point Morin had only himself to blame for falling out of favor.
Also made a point that these trades of developed prospects for other organization's rejects could prove risky for the organization down the line. His point was Stan giving Q players he can play over their own prospects hurts their development and Rundblad/Erixon over Klas and Clendening is an example.
Not sure where I stand on it but I would prefer to see Klas getting those Rundblad minutes now that it is apparent what Rundblad's upside is. Though I'd like to see that physical d man in the lineup - until the trade deadline they need to give Klas or Clendening time in the NHL to develop. Both of them are RFA next summer. - tredbrta
this a WIN NOW team....hell they caught an amazing gift surprise with the kid dman TVR who earned top 6 playing team as a young prospect...
believe me next year will have plenty opportunity to watch players "develop" once the 3-5 guys are gone next year per 2010 salary dump pourge Ver2

What he said.
Goalie win, nothing more...and it still took the gimmick for them to get the "win". |
