Don't see how Columbus finishes behind us. They are a better team

Switch them out for Ottawa maybe

Nice to see the leafs take off. Don't think their annual collapse will be bad enough to threaten us. I see the yotes finishing ahead of us even after dumping yandle. Not a fan of him

Ottawa will definitely have a top 5. I think the Canes will finish last, they are a major ClusterFK. I hate to say it but you may be right with the Leafs. They will make the playoffs( and I hate saying that).

The Flyers will be go 13-1-4 down the stretch and finish 4 points out of the playoffs and pick 14th.

EDIT: They will be in the bottom 5 prior.

Yep.. that's exactly what will happen..

Thanks Bill. Guess who was on the ice for the first two goals against the Flyers? Coby. Nice. Dump him while you can, and at least get some picks.
Scotty L continues to impress. I can definitely see him wearing the C next. He learns from his mistakes, he doesn't quit on a play, and plays a two way game. What more could you ask for. G don't look over your shoulder.

Mayor Of Angry Town says there's a conspiracy between Snider and the league to give the Flyers the #1 pick as long as they miss the playoffs. I'm hoping against hope for this even if it's immoral.

It's only right, for all the help he gave the Penguins, and how the Flyers got screwed on Kane..

Give us McDavid as a pity-pick!!!

I assume you meant how they would finish as there is no way of knowing who will win the lottery. I think you are pretty close, I would go with:
1. Carolina
2. Edmonton
3. Buffalo
4. New Jersey
5. Arizona
6. Philadelphia
7. Colorado
8. Ottawa
9. Columbus
10. Dallas

That would leave us picking 6th, 7th or 1st if we get really lucky

- BiggE

This bottom ten seems very spot on.
Flyers could finish in the bottom 3 if G. Jake, or Mase miss any significant time.

Coburn, macdonald, and grossman will get injured prior to the deadline becoming untradable. Manning, lauridsen, alt will come up and the team will go on a streak playing simple hockey. flyer go from bottom 3 to bottom 12. Sound familiar?

That would work for me

hmm

Bettman: Hi Ed, what's on your mind

Snider: Comcast is looking to put some major cash into the NHL...on one condition

Bettman: That would be great, what's the catch

Snider: Connor McDavid

Well, that is pretty much how the real world works, so.....

Can't argue with that. As long as the Flyers get lucky and by some miracle get a lottery ball within the 1-2 range

If this starts to happen Hexy will force VLC back into the line up.
Not worried about the tank getting off the tracks this season.

As of now, I think the top 10 picks will look like this:

1. Oilers
2. Hurricanes
3. Sabres
4. Coyotes
5. Devils
6. Blue Jackets
7. Flyers
8. Avalanche
9. Florida
10. Dallas

- NickTheKid87

Sabres and Blue Jackets both finish ahead of the Flyers. Maybe even the Devils the way things are going for the Flyers. This next road trip will set the stage.

I understand that.

BUt you act like MacDonald's skill set can't be found somewhere else or for cheaper.

I guess I just don't understand where you want this team to go because you onctinually defend the mediocrity on this team.

At his cap hit and contract I expect more then being ok in my own zone as pretty much his only skill. Yes he can make a nice outlet pass but so can Luke schenn.

- J35Bacher

A team is a collection of it's parts. What I won't do is criticze a 2nd pair defenseman, or a 3rd pair defenseman and call them mediocre, because the Flyers lack a legitimate top defense pair. MacDonald is far more then a decent outlet passer, who is comparable to Luke Schenn in that department. MacDonald is a solid all around 2nd pair defenseman. Who was arguably the team's best defenseman last night.
Where I want this team to do is to continue to improve, and remain patient for the right moves to present themselves. Rather then get involved in the wheelings and dealings that the fans seem to want.

Could EDM get a lift with the coaching change?

I wonder with some of the talent they have how they can be so bad?

If they had a real goalie I think it would make a world of difference.

I agree. I know the Isles made several moves to bolster the blue line and forward depth, but getting Halak, a legitimate starting goalie, has been huge for them.

My biggest frustration with Amac is he is very average offensively.
More often then not his shot is blocked or misses the net.

Matt Carle did more on offense even with his weak "muffin top" shot then AMac is giving them this year.

Amac is an OK player all around. But for a "puck mover" they get very little shot or even set ups in the O zone from him.

I'd much rather have Stralman Erhoff or even a guy like Johnny Oduya then Amac right now for the contract.

I guess some players as UFAs may take less $ to play for a better team.

- Marc D

I agree with this. I'd like to see MacDonald become more aggressive both offensively and defensively. He has the wheels to be able to jump up in the play, fill some holes, and become dangerous trailing the rush. I thought he made some smart plays with the puck a the point last night. He didn't have clear shooting lanes, so he smartly shot the puck wide, and it created some dangerous situations around the net.

Was Coburn at fault for any of those goals, or does that matter? Was it Coburn's fault that Streit couldn't execute a simple switch on the Stamkos goal, and basically took Coburn out of the play, or does that matter?

Laughton will not be wearing the C anytime soon.
