According to Oil fans those players are scraps.... honestly though you wouldn't be willing to acquire a top 10 player for 2 roster players and 2 prospects that you have depth in?
- belcherbd

It is all about team makeup. We have plenty of forward depth and plenty of high-end skill. Sure Hall would be an improvement of sorts, but for the makeup of the team Hall isn't a "need". If we were talking a young stud type d-man than it would make sense, but for Hall we would be making an all-in deal to acquire a stud forward when we already have supreme forward depth as it is.

Geez, so bc Hedman is currently having a nice offensive season now means that it will automatically continue bc some have a crystal ball and predict it.
Don't know about you, but how many players have u seen have a great season 1yr but cant continue to maintain it????

Like I said, unless he starts putting up Weber type offensive numbers on a consistent basis... Sometimes I question how some can assume without any prior history???

He had a heck of a year last year as well. So he is finally becoming the player he was drafted to be.
He's a stud.

I have to ask, would you give up Nyquist and/or Tatar for Hall?

I sure wouldn't.

- Lightning813

One of the two in a package for Hall. Absolutely

I could probably do Nyquist + Larkin + 2015-1st

I like Hedman and yes he had a nice year last year and is having another nice year this year but lets see how he continues to progress within the next 2-3yrs left on his contract.

He will get paid regardless but how much???

They have an abundance and I see this as a possible solution:

Hall-Stamkos-Drouin
Killorn-Fil-Cally
Connolly-TJ-Kucherov
Morrow-Boyle-Paquette

- Feds91Stammer

I love the lineup so don't get me wrong. But herein lies the problem. After making that deal Yzerman wouldn't have alot of chips left. Yes we have an abundance, but with Hall we would still have D issues. Sustr has shown he's not ready for the minutes we need him to play and that's the place I see Yzerman hunting for an upgrade with the abundance

Yes but you have to give to get. It's just an idea but I see most fans are overly attached to their players.
- Feds91Stammer

Agreed. I'm not arguing against b/c I'm overly attached to the players. I just don't think acquiring Hall is the move to hypothetically put us over the top. Improving on D is the move we need to make and if we're going to move pieces from our abundance quite frankly it's the move we should make

you mean like he did last year too, and the year before that (on pace for 40 points during the lock out shorten season)

His career path...

Having watched him from an 18 year old playing in the NHL to a now 23 "grizzled" vet with over 300 games played, unless injuries come into play there is nothing to suggest otherwise. Prior to the fractured hand/wrist this year he started on fire. Last year he was a stud. The numbers aren't everything when it comes to D but given the talent he is surrounded with in Tampa what is there to suggest he won't put up those numbers if not more?

I agree it isn't necessarily the best move but IMO it makes Tampa better and also provides some form of elite scoring insurance in the event that Stamkos leaves.

Its ok, we're used to it. Just the other day a Buffalo fan referred to Hedman as "slow"

Myers is their idea of a Number 1 D so Hedman confuses them

Which is a thought, however with Kucherov and Drouin we may have that covered already. Granted both of them are different players than Stammer but both possess elite offensive skill

I honestly think Yzerman wants to target Myers if he's going to make a "big" trade. He's RH for starters, and he could fit very well into Cooper's system. With his size, plus Hedman at 6'6", we would have some sizeable pillars on the back-end. I'm sure I'm going to get killed for suggesting this, however my gut tells me Myers is a guy Yzerman wants. That being said, he's not going to pay whatever the current insane price is. Matchup wise there is the making of a good hockey trade with the Sabres looking for offense and the Bolts needing an upgrade to the current D

who would you give up? Cant imagine taking on another 4m plus contract for your Dmen without shipping one out. Carle? Garrison?

No way they get rid of Garrison, he's been great this season. Carle on the other hand is over rated and over paid

Hall and their first for Price?

Way too much in my view but the point is everyone is trade bait for the right price

- Rang

the problem is, you put Price on Edmonton for the rest of the year and that first is not likley to be top 3, and almost certainly not McDavid.

They will not be making any big deals until the summer. I can't understand why people aren't getting this. ESPECIALLY any deals regarding their 1st or Hall. I don't have a lot of faith in our management but even they're not irretrievably stupid.
