Right.. so am I supposed to say sutter, pouliot, maatta, bennet and our first for him? No thanks. Sid and geno don't need "elite" wingers to win scoring title and put up 100 point seasons. We need players like tlusty from carolina and a few depth guys. Still salty about that loss we gave you guys?
- znagle

Did I say that? Saying you don't need Hall "at all" is just a farce bro. Fact is, every team needs a guy like Hall.

Also congrats on scraping past the Flames. Keep going with your 100 point seasons from Malkin and Crosby....that's really getting you somewhere

Still upset over that Vanek trade I see...
- sskkoo1

No, never was?? What makes u think that????

I would make that trade over again, the difference was that Snow made the mistake of that trade without having a complete team, like we have now... Are u hating bc we are finally playing well again and your dreams of another top 10 pick is no longer looking good...... so sorry for u

I do. Erhoff is OK. He's playing OK. That's replacable
- ChrisMS

He leads the Pens in plus/minus... he's been on the ice for 36 goals for, as opposed to 18 goals against... that's better than everyone not named Letang, to say he's been OK is an extreme understatement. And that's while getting 2 minutes on the PP per game as opposed to Letang's 4 minutes...

What's the talk been about the Pens resigning him? Haven't heard much from a national media standpoint? Is the team working on that or do you guys view him more as a rental that will cost too much to resign?

Pretty sure I said We don't need him at all. It would be nice, but we don't need to sell the barn for a tractor

Let me put that into words you can understand. It would be nice to have Hall, but not at the price of a few good roster players, our top prospects and our first round. All for a winger so we can have 2 good lines and no depth. Ring a bell penguins fans? Last few years maybe?

And we had bylsma as our coach, that's almost enough said as is. He couldn't coach his way to the ocean from the beach.

You can keep going with your 100 point seasons from... I mean playoff making team.. when was the last time the flames were in the playoffs?

Honestly there hasn't been much word on what they plan on doing with Ehrhoff, I think the talks will pick up after the new year... I'm hoping they resign him. I believe he's been the Pens best all around defenseman this year. He hasn't been putting up a lot of points but he is extremely responsible in his own end, the Pens defense in my mind has been leaps and bounds better this season... also the system helps alleviate the amount of odd man rushes since the stretch pass isn't being forced like it was n Disco Dan's system. Scuderi has slightly improved but he still plays with the puck like its a grenade about to go off.. Dunno why they just don't bury him in the press box and let the younger guys play, I feel like Harrington plays a similar game to Scuderi, but is faster..

That's the key, Tampa is so loaded and young that they don't need a Hall and his $6m contract and be cap strapped......

A team that could use an identity or add another star player is whom should target Hall...... Obviously having good cap relief also.....

- Ur Not Me

Tampa won't be able to re-sign all the young talent either when they are due for raises.

What would it take to get Hall though?

Namestnikov + Palat +1st ???

Heck no, they can keep him... even hypothetically.

Johnson and Palat are locked in on 3.33/per RFA contracts for two more years after this year.

Kucherov will get something similar, probably more, if he continues on this upward trend.

Congrats! You got lucky in the lottery and now the Pens are a dynasty having collected a grand total of one cup. The fact is the Penguins are a poop show and continue to be one of the worst managed teams in hockey.

With the salary cap rising in the NHL they would have the cap space if the GM is smart enough to sign them to reasonable contracts off the initial ECL contract, While other players will eventually come off the books.

Oilers would ask for G prospect Vesilivski (however its spelled) but if I'm TB I'm not sure if I'd trade him??

Palat or Kucherov is a start w/the G prospect ........

Two years from now, the cap is going to be higher.

I would even go as far to say that Filppula (as much as I like him) may be expendable now, with the emergence of Johnson.

It happens, and I would rather be a poop show that's atop the eastern conference with half a team Enjoy the wins now, flames won't make playoffs and if they do they'll be bounced like a basketball
