Three KHL teams may fold due to monetary issues related to crashing ruble and Russian economy. Some coaches haven't been paid anything.

You know what, I bet kovy's deal with the devils after taxes and escrow would be worth more than the money he's making there now. Karmas a female dog. |

I've been going on and on forever about Edmonton giving their young players too much money too soon, always proven right - jimbro83
Would any of you guys be willing to take a shot with Yakupov? I know he totally sucks right now, but that kid was an awesome player and talent in Juniors, and I think could be a worthwhile reclamation project at a heavily discounted trade price. |

trade proposal on facebook:
Timothy Hugle Jr: J. Moore and a draft pick. For Hall. I don't care if they need a winger. If that's the case. J.Moore and staal. 2 defenseman and a draft pick. I'm happy with everyone else. Of anything. A winger from the wolfpack that we use every so often. |

What would it take? I like the idea of getting him soon and pairing him in the locker room with MSL and Stepan. Kind of like a mentor relationship to get him on the straight and narrow mentally. Yak in this offensive system would be pure bliss. |

Our man to man defensive system is also significantly harder than a lot of other defensive systems...yak in this defensive system would be pure chaos
But yea, if a guy like that is available especially for a low price you consider it. |

I love the part of the trade for the trash winger from the AHL. Yeah that will get Edmonton interested. |

Got to love those people who think we can trade our struggling players for other team's best players. |

I wonder what the price would be. He's been terrible for almost two years now, after a pretty good rookie season. Can't imagine that his trade value is that high. They may want to see whether a new coach can turn him around, before pulling the plug on what is a pretty bad situation with him.

Smart GMs treat their players like assets, which they are. And assets should be treated similar to stocks. You buy low and sell high. If a stock crashes and hits a low value, you hold it and wait for it to improve. |

I agree. But, it would be inaccurate to make the assumption that all GMs are smart. Some GMs get desperate. Some GMs make very bad trades.
I will also say that the trade value of a guys like Yakupov is the hardest to really determine -- a recent top pick that's struggling badly. You give up on him to soon, you could get burnt. You wait too long, and then you may have no asset at all. |
