I think visiting just get amped to play in MSG, under the bright lights. Like the opposite of Nashville. Visiting team go into the city of Nashville, have a great time around the city and stink on the ice. I think team feel like they can get away in NYC, because it's so big and almost nobody will notice them. Like Joffery Lupol Christmas shopping in NYC last year right before the WC.

Never thought of it like that Tom, but that is a pretty good observation. Probably a lot of truth to it.

Jimbo, are we the stupid ones for noting want, let's say realizing that the Rangers will almost certainly not be in the hunt for Taylor Hall? I just don't understand.

I think our fanbase includes some of the dumbest fans in the entire league, and many of them have their own blogs. (Not Jan)

Oh, I wasn't talking about this group. Jan is level headed, itelligent and fair both for and against the Rangers. The group of posters are great. We disagree and even get a little heated times. But that's what makes it's fun.

But no way on earth should and can the Rangers make a play for Taylor Hall.

yeah, I just wanted to point out that there are some really dumb fans with their own blogs, but just didn't want it to come across as dissing Jan.

There is a reason I stay here.

If we can get hall for a Kreider + Skjei + Hagelin + Pick package...I think you have to at least consider it.

if we are going to be throwing around serious trade proposals in any way, I think a larger package has to include Brassard. The money almost matches up, he doesn't have a NTC (it starts after season) and they also have the benefit of knowing that Brass and Pouliot have great chemistry.

But, I don't see it happening

I like Hall and think he is a very very good player, but what the Rangers would have to give up to get him would hurt more than help. If Hall goes anywhere, I have a feeling it will be a bubble team, or a team rebuilding that would be able to offer all the pieces. No team in a playoff spot would offer up what it would take and change the dynamic of their team.

Kreider and hagelins money match up I believe. We lose a bit of depth but if duclair is with us we still have 13 forwards.

I would but now low level bloggers want the moon for Hall

Stepan, Kreider, Staal, prospects and a picks. For Hall and the oilers scraps.

The prospects would certainly be any two combonation of Halversson/Shesterkin, Duclair/Miller and or Skjei. And a 2016 first round pick.

Sorry If I don't want to make that deal.

Nothing to be sorry about. Its a hell of a price to pay. Kids a stud though and a very young one at that.

I think there are team's with more cap space, draft picks and better prospects that can top any Ranger offer

I know he's stud. But he'd have hard time creating offensive on a line without a top 6 center, kinda like the Oilers 2nd line problem since like what seems like forever. Not mention without Staal and Skjei, that Mcilrath as the next one in line. That scares the poop out of me.

Yeah, getting Hall would most likely mean getting rid of the young guys we are all excited about, plus a decent roster player or 2 and a pick. IMO that hurts way more than it helps. Then we go back to the Rangers of the early 2000's with no good prospects and trying to fill all holes with overpriced FA's.

I actually won't hate the deal, but once you include Stepan or Brassard the Rangers have to walk away. Hayes is not ready for top 6 minutes, neither is Lindberg. You're screwed without one of Brass and Stepan.

@jimbro83 @Garts2point2 @HEELVin @tpb1990 to get Hall, it would take a combination of, Talbot, Miller, Duclair, Staal, McDonagh, Nash & 1st

Well if the deal is Kreider + Hagelin + Skjei + 1st/Halverson for Hall straight up do you do it? It's a similar structure to the Nash deal but an upgrade in each position.

The internet in a nutshell. In response about the Oilers wanting a legit offer.

Talbot and Staal, both UFA's. Mcdonagh our best young player, Nash with a NMC, Miller, Duclair and 2016 1st.

I would think about it, but the cap kinda get's in the way. Rangers wouldn't have enough.

Rangers know what makes them successful...being able to constantly roll 4 lines. I don't like these 5 for 1 player trades right now.

I think the Rangers like every team should listen offers and be thinking about how to make the team better. Not like this though. It's guts the next gen of roster plays, and put the Rangers into and even more dire cap situation.

Yea, we'd be giving up 4.725M and receiving 6M. It's close but we still might be too close to the cap.

I think the Rangers have like 70k in cap space after they loaned Duclair to team Canada. Seems like any trade Rangers make would have to match dollar for dollar. Rangers get to play the match game.
